Xiaomi is developing a new high-end tablet to rival the iPad

Xiaomi is working on a new upper segment tablet. According to reliable leakster Digital Chat Station, this device has a total nominal capacity of 5900 mAh with a dual-cell battery design. This structure offers power equivalent to a single-cell 12,000 mAh battery. In addition, the device will be able to charge in a much shorter time than previous models with 120W fast charging support.

Although the model name has not been confirmed yet, this new device is expected to be a tablet. According to previous rumors, Xiaomi may offer a tablet with an OLED display in 2025. It is stated that this device will be equipped with an 11-inch screen with a 144 Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon’s high-end processor, up to 24 GB RAM support and 120W fast charging technology. In terms of design, it is claimed that it will be similar to the Xiaomi Pad 6 series. However, it is worth noting that this information is not yet final and the accuracy of the expectations is not clear.

The leak source stated that this tablet does not belong to Xiaomi’s Redmi series and will be positioned in the premium segment with a price tag of approximately 4,000 yuan (19,325 TL). This price is above the price of 3,499 yuan (16910 TL) set for the highest version of the current Pad 7 Pro (12 GB + 512 GB). This suggests that the new tablet will compete directly with Apple’s iPad series.

Xiaomi introduced the Pad 7 series in October

The Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro models, which Xiaomi introduced in China in October, strengthened the company’s claim in the tablet category. Both models come with an 11.2-inch anti-glare LCD screen with 3K resolution and 144 Hz refresh rate. Offering advanced eye protection features, this screen gives a paper-like feel when used with a pen.

While the Pad 7 model is powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor, the Pro version raises the performance bar with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. These devices, running the Xiaomi HyperOS 2 operating system, offer PC-level multitasking support, adjustable backlit sliding keyboard and strong connectivity features. When we look at the camera features, Pad 7 has a 13 MP rear and 8 MP front camera, while the Pro model has a 50 MP rear and 32 MP front camera. Both devices are equipped with Wi-Fi 7, Dolby Atmos support and fast charging technologies. While Pad 7 provides 45W charging support, the Pro model can go up to 67W.
