Xiaomi’s flagship model, Xiaomi 16, can finally be equipped with a periscope telephoto lens. This long-awaited feature could help the device gain a stronger position in the premium smartphone market by increasing its camera capabilities.
According to the information shared by popular technology leak source Smart Pikachu; Xiaomi plans to integrate this advanced camera technology in its new device. This feature can correct a deficiency not found in the Xiaomi 15 and enable the new model to offer a much more assertive camera experience. The lack of a periscope lens on the Xiaomi 15 was an element that limited the zoom capabilities of the device and caused disappointment among users.
Integrating periscope lens technology into Xiaomi 16 can significantly increase the optical zoom capability of the device. These lenses bend the light path by 90 degrees, providing longer-range zoom while avoiding compromising image quality. This feature offers a great advantage, especially for users who want to take detailed and clear photos of distant objects. Xiaomi 16 may come with a more compact screen
