Samsung brings an environment detection feature to the SmartHings platform

Samsung announced today that it has taken a new step for the smart home platform SmarttHings. The company will equip its devices such as televisions, Family Hub refrigerators and Music Frame speaker with motion and sound detection sensors, allowing these devices to work more integrated with the Smartthings ecosystem. While the new features are planned to be used in 2025 and 2026, no information has not yet been given about the exact dates.

This move draws attention as part of Samsung’s vision of “artificial intelligence for everyone”. The company aims to provide personalized experiences with data obtained from daily life by using artificial intelligence to simplify technology in homes. According to Samsung’s statement, thanks to the new home AI technology, devices will make the home environment smarter and more efficient according to the needs of users.

Enterprise detection technology will offer safety, energy savings, entertainment and health -oriented automation suggestions using movement and sound sensors integrated into Samsung’s devices. For example, motion sensors on television will be able to detect users’ movements when exercising and guide them in the right form. In addition, when the user sits in a chair, features will be possible, such as automatically opening the read lamp and adjustment of the ambient temperature to personal preferences.

Samsung’s technology will not only detect daily activities, but will also create specific responses to certain situations. For example, when your pet goes to the couch, it will be able to reduce allergens by running the air cleaner. Similarly, when the sound of a hair dryer is detected, the robot vacuum cleaner will automatically take action to clean hair rashes.

Samsung said that such automations will be fully managed by the user and can be privatized through the Smartthings application. The company also stressed that all collected data will be stored locally in the SmartHings Hub and will not be transferred to the cloud environment.

Samsung SmartHings map view is also updated

In addition to ambient detection technology, Samsung has announced updates for the Map View feature on the Smartthings platform. The map view offers an interface that visualizes the overall order of the house. With the new update, this feature will add a deeper understanding to the home layout and environment of the user’s home order and environment. Users will be able to personalize the system by adding photos of their furniture and belongings to the Map View.

According to Samsung, these innovations will make it possible for smart houses to work with context -oriented. The data collected from the sensors will enable the lighting and temperature settings to be optimized according to the user’s movements and preferences.

These developments aim to solve the lack of context, one of the biggest problems of smart houses. Daily activities and habits are needed to respond to the user without the need for voice commands or manual adjustments. Samsung aims to fill this gap and make the ecosystem more effective by using their devices as a sensor.

The details of Samsung’s new technologies are not yet clear. The company did not announce which devices will be equipped with these sensors and whether the third -party sensors are compatible with the new system. However, it can be easily said that these features will bring a new dimension to the SmartHings ecosystem.
