Redmi Turbo 5 will be available to users with a 1.5K screen and large battery

Redmi is preparing to present itself to users with its new model Turbo 5, which will further intensify the competition in the middle segment. The latest leaks appearing on Chinese social media platforms indicate that the phone will come with a serious technical update. This information was shared by the reliable source using the pseudonym Digital Chat Station. The innovations made in the design and hardware of the device stand out especially in terms of battery capacity and durability.

It is stated that Redmi Turbo 5 will use a 6.5-inch flat LTPS panel and this panel will offer 1.5K resolution. Screen details are not only limited to resolution; It is said that the device will also include an optical in-screen fingerprint sensor. A visually simple but functional design approach seems to have been adopted. This display will likely offer clarity and energy efficiency that improves the user experience.

Redmi Turbo 5 will be launched to the world under the Poco brand

On the battery side, a high capacity of 7,500 mAh stands out, and this value may be the largest among Redmi’s phones so far. A battery of this size will be accompanied by 100W fast charging support. This structure, which promises long-term performance in daily use, will also reduce time loss thanks to fast charging. In addition to all this, it is also noteworthy that the device has an IP68 certificate.

IP68 certification means that the device offers full protection against water and dust. This feature stands out as Redmi brings this level of durability to a mid-segment model for the first time. The metal frame used in the body structure increases the overall durability and creates a sense of quality in terms of aesthetics. However, this material change may slightly increase the weight of the device.

It is stated that in terms of design, visible improvements have been made in material quality and final workmanship compared to previous models. This structure, which responds to users’ demand for long-lasting use, may especially attract the attention of young users. On the other hand, with its simple rear camera array, the general design language of the device remains clear of confusion. This simplicity may also indicate a performance-oriented approach on the software side.

On the processor side, Turbo 5 is predicted to come with MediaTek’s new generation chipset Dimensity 8500 Ultra. This processor was previously mentioned with models such as Oppo Reno 15 Pro, Realme Neo 8 and Honor Power 2. Although performance tests have not been shared yet, Dimensity 8500 Ultra is expected to be in a very competitive position in the upper-middle segment. It is stated that this chipset will provide advantages in graphics performance, gaming experience and power consumption.

Although some previous leaks suggested that the device may have a battery over 9,000 mAh, the latest information points to a 7,500 mAh level. This difference in battery capacity may have been made to balance the thickness and weight of the device. However, both leaks agree on the presence of 100W fast charging and IP68 certification. This ensures that the device will offer both a strong and durable structure.

It seems likely that the device will be released in the global market under the Poco brand under the name Poco X8 Pro. This name has already started to appear in certification data in Europe. As in past examples, Redmi is expected to continue with the Poco brand in markets outside China. This strategy can provide advantages in terms of brand differentiation and marketing.

The launch of Redmi Turbo 5 is planned to be held in November 2025. The fact that the calendar, which was previously stated as first quarter 2026, has been brought forward reflects the brand’s desire to respond to the market earlier. It is said that the Turbo 5 Pro model will be introduced in the first half of 2026. Thus, Redmi will fill out the first half of the year with two devices positioned in different segments.
