Redmi continues to share new technical details for the K100 Pro, which it will introduce in China on August 11. The company had previously confirmed that the smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V processor and will come with a 6.59-inch screen. The latest statements reveal more comprehensive information about the camera system and battery capacity of the device. Thus, most of the prominent hardware features of the K100 Pro became official before the launch event.
In Redmi’s post on Weibo, it was confirmed that the K100 Pro will come with a triple rear camera system. At the center of the system is the 200-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) support. In addition, an ultra wide-angle camera and a telephoto camera will accompany the rear camera setup. The company also announced that the telephoto camera can take macro shots up to 10 centimeters. In this way, the device is aimed to address different usage scenarios not only in long-distance shooting but also in close-up photography.
Redmi K100 Pro draws attention with its high capacity battery
Apart from the camera details, Redmi also shared the battery specifications of the K100 Pro. The smartphone will carry a battery with a capacity of 8,580 mAh. According to the information provided by the company, the battery has a high silicon-carbon content of 26 percent. Silicon-carbon battery technology, which has started to be used more frequently by smartphone manufacturers in recent years, allows capacity to be increased by offering higher energy density in the same physical volume. In addition, it provides flexibility to manufacturers in keeping the thickness of the device under control while providing a long usage time.
There are also notable features on the charging side. Redmi K100 Pro will offer 100 W wired fast charging support. In addition, 50 W wireless charging support is also among the technical features of the device. On the other hand, the phone will not only be limited to charging its own battery quickly. The model will also support 27 W wired reverse charging and 22.5 W wireless reverse charging. Thanks to these features, it will be possible to charge compatible devices such as headphones, smart watches or another smartphone via the K100 Pro.
Redmi will introduce the K100 Pro series at the event to be held in China on August 11. In addition to the standard K100 Pro, the series will also include the K100 Pro Max model. The company had previously confirmed that Pro Max will come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. In addition, it is also among the announced information that the model will have a 6.9 inch AMOLED screen and a triple rear camera system. All differences in processor, screen size and other hardware between the two models will become clear during the promotional event.
The information shared by Redmi shows that the K100 Pro aims to compete in the upper segment, especially in terms of camera, battery capacity and charging technologies. However, details of the camera sensors, image processing features on the software side, and plans for international markets have not yet been announced. Therefore, the actual usage performance of the device and its position in different markets will become clearer with detailed evaluations to be made after the official launch.
