Oppo Find N7 may raise the battery bar in foldable phones

New information continues to emerge about the foldable Oppo Find N7. While it was previously claimed that the device would come with a wide-body foldable design, the latest leaks also reveal details on the battery capacity and hardware side. According to the information shared by reliable leak source Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the company is testing a battery with a capacity of approximately 6,500 mAh in engineering samples of Find N7. If this capacity is confirmed, the device could offer one of the highest battery capacities ever seen in the foldable phone class.

According to the leak, Oppo Find N7 is being tested with Qualcomm’s new generation flagship processor with a 2 nm production process, which has not yet been announced. The model pointed out by the source is expected to be Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 (SM8950). In addition, it is stated that the device was tested with a special accelerator that can perform artificial intelligence operations directly on the phone. Such hardware can contribute to faster operations such as productive artificial intelligence and image processing without the need for an internet connection.

Oppo Find N7 may attract attention on the battery and screen side

According to the information shared by Digital Chat Station, one of the first engineering goals set for Find N7 was to use a battery with a capacity of approximately 6,500 mAh. This value is noteworthy considering that the battery capacity of foldable phones today is limited due to the body thickness. The possibility of offering a higher battery capacity compared to Samsung’s current Galaxy Z Fold series and the foldable iPhone model that Apple is allegedly working on may be among the prominent factors, especially for users who expect long usage time.

In addition, the source states that different options regarding the device’s camera design are also being evaluated. It is stated that in the early prototypes, in addition to the classic large circular camera module, an alternative camera design with a horizontal layout and similar to the iPhone Air was also tested. It is stated that Oppo has not yet decided on the final design and the development process continues.

Information previously shared by the same source showed that Find N7 will have a 5.5-inch external screen and a 7.6-inch foldable internal screen. While the display panels are expected to be supplied by Samsung Display and BOE, it is claimed that the new generation hinge system has been developed to reduce the screen fold as much as possible. Considering that manufacturers in the foldable phone market have focused on hinge durability and reducing screen wrinkles in recent years, it seems that Oppo is also working in a similar direction.

Available information shows that Oppo Find N7 is planned to be introduced in the first quarter of 2027. If this schedule does not change, it seems possible that the model will be announced as the first foldable smartphone using the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor. However, the technical specifications, design and release date of the device have not yet been officially confirmed by Oppo. New information that will emerge in the coming period will reveal more clearly which hardware and design choices were decided on during the development process.
