Redmi Note 17 was seen for the first time on Geekbench and its processor was revealed

A new smartphone that Xiaomi has not introduced yet was spotted in the Geekbench performance test. Although the name of the device in the database with the model number 2607DRA18C is not directly stated, previously revealed information indicates that this model may be Redmi Note 17. Thanks to the listing, the first technical details about the processor, memory capacity and software version that the device will use have come to light. While official confirmation is yet to be found, the model number largely matches previous certification records.

According to Geekbench data, the device in question received 1,027 points in the single-core test and 3,002 points in the multi-core test. The test recording shows that the phone uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset. While the tested prototype has 12 GB RAM, it appears that the device will come out of the box with the Android 16 operating system. Xiaomi’s current software interface, HyperOS, is also expected to be offered based on Android 16.

Redmi Note 17 global and Chinese models may come with similar hardware

The letter “C” at the end of the model number seen in Geekbench indicates that the device is prepared for the Chinese market. In contrast, another Xiaomi phone with model number 2607DRA18I was recently certified in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) database. The suffix “I” in the model number refers to the Indian version. The fact that both model numbers are largely the same strengthens the possibility that the Redmi Note 17 may be offered for sale with similar technical specifications in different markets. However, it is not yet clear whether Xiaomi will make some changes on the hardware or software side according to regional markets.

In addition, it should not be forgotten that Geekbench results are generally obtained from prototype devices under development. For this reason, there is a possibility that some changes will be made in processor frequencies, memory options or software optimizations before the launch. Still, such performance tests can provide reliable clues to reveal the basic hardware structure of the devices before the official announcement.

Xiaomi had previously confirmed that it would introduce the Redmi Note 17 series in China on July 14. The series is expected to be announced with multiple models with different hardware options at the event. With the introduction, technical specifications, pricing and launch schedule will also become official. It is not currently announced when the global version will be introduced. However, certification records and Geekbench listing show that preparations for the international market are continuing.
