Android operating system has long been known for offering innovative solutions in notification management. With One UI 7 based on Android 15, Samsung went one step further in this regard and added new features that will allow users to better manage their notifications. Thanks to the new update, old or unwanted notifications can be automatically moved to a less visible area.
Samsung’s “Filter Notifications” feature, introduced in the second beta version of One UI 7, offers users the option to filter certain types of notifications. This feature improves the user experience by moving unnecessary or unimportant notifications to the bottom of the notification screen.
The notification filtering feature supports three main options:
- Background Activities: Such notifications, which indicate that applications are running in the background, are generally sent to inform the user.
- Minimized Notifications: Notifications that users manually minimize fall into this category.
- Old Notifications: Old notifications that the user has not taken action on for several days are included in this group.
It is possible to personalize the notification filtering feature by activating these three options separately. To access the settings, simply go to Settings » Notifications » Advanced Settings and select the “Filter Notifications” option.
One UI 7 may be useful for users who receive a lot of notifications
With the One UI 6.1 update, Samsung disabled notification categories by default, but allowed users to bring this feature back. One UI 7’s notification filtering feature takes this step one step further and allows users to make the notification screen more organized. This feature seems to provide great convenience, especially for users who encounter heavy notification traffic.
This new notification management feature of Samsung can aim to improve the user experience by reducing unnecessary crowding on devices. This innovation can both increase productivity and enable users to access the information they need faster.
