Vivo X500 inherits the powerful camera of the X300 Pro

Vivo continues to share new technical details about the X500 series, which is planned to be introduced in China this month. In the series, which will consist of Vivo X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max models, information regarding the Pro options was previously announced. This time, the company confirmed the camera features of the standard Vivo X500. According to the shared information, the phone will use the same Sony sensor in the main camera as the current Vivo X300 Pro. In addition, the telephoto camera will offer features such as high resolution, advanced image stabilization and 4K slow-motion video recording.

The main camera of Vivo X500 will have a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-828 sensor. This 1/1.28 inch sensor also serves as the main camera in Vivo’s current X300 Pro model. While the larger sensor surface helps collect more light, especially in low light conditions, it shows that the phone will offer a structure close to the upper class in terms of camera hardware, even though it is a standard model. Vivo will also include a gimbal-level image stabilization system developed with Zeiss on the main camera. Professional image stabilization rating of CIPA 5.5 level is stated for the system.

On the telephoto camera side, common hardware was preferred between the X500 and X500 Pro. According to the information provided by Vivo, the standard X500 will use the 64-megapixel Sony LYT-610 sensor. This camera will also have CIPA 5.5 level image stabilization support. In this way, it is aimed to reduce the effect of vibrations that may occur during handheld shooting, especially at high zoom levels. In addition, it has been confirmed that the telephoto camera can record slow motion video at 120 frames per second at 4K resolution.

Vivo X500 telephoto camera will support 200mm converter

One of the remarkable camera features announced for Vivo X500 was 200 mm teleconverter support. The external telephoto converter will allow you to use the phone’s optical system at longer focal lengths. Such accessories aim to partially overcome the physical limitations of phone cameras, especially when capturing distant objects, stage events or nature images. However, there is no information yet on whether the accessory will be offered with the phone or sold separately. Vivo’s official launch can be expected to share more details about the way the accessory is used and the supported shooting options.

Information about the third rear camera of the phone has not yet been confirmed by Vivo. According to current claims, the X500 will have a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. If such a structure is confirmed, the rear camera system of the phone will consist of a 50-megapixel main camera, 64-megapixel telephoto and 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. This could result in a more balanced camera setup that maintains high resolution across different focal lengths. However, we need to wait for Vivo’s official statement for details such as sensor size, lens features and viewing angle of the ultra wide-angle camera.

Other information about the X500 also indicates that the phone can be positioned as a relatively compact flagship. According to rumors, the device will have a 6.37 inch screen. On the processor side, it is claimed that a Dimensity 9000 series chip produced from MediaTek’s 3 nm production process will be used. Since Vivo has not yet announced the exact name of the processor of the standard model, this detail is not among the confirmed features. Despite this, the announced camera hardware shows that the differences between the standard X500 and Pro models may be more limited than some users expected, at least on the photography side.

Vivo X500 series is planned to be officially introduced in China this month. The presence of the Sony LYT-828 main sensor taken from the X300 Pro and the LYT-610 telephoto sensor shared with the X500 Pro in the standard model reveals that the camera will be one of the highlights of the phone. The fact that CIPA 5.5 stabilization degree is offered on both the main and telephoto cameras also seems noteworthy, especially for users who take handheld photos and videos. On the other hand, some of the ultra-wide-angle camera, processor and other hardware details are based on rumors for now. The general camera performance of the phone and its position against Pro models will be more clearly understood with the results of the sensor hardware as well as the image processing software in real use.
