Lenovo is preparing to offer a new option to portable gamers. The company has confirmed on its Weibo account that a refreshed version of its popular Legion Y700 gaming tablet will be introduced soon.
While not many details have been shared yet, with only the words “coming soon” being used, a recent Geekbench 5 listing shared by Digital Chat Station, known for its reliable tech leaks, does provide some insight into the hardware.
The listing shows a Lenovo device, believed to be the Y700, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and 12GB of RAM. The device scored 2,209 points in the single-core test and 6,509 points in the multi-core test. The new chipset appears to provide a significant performance boost over the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 used in the previous model.
While the Geekbench listing gives hints about the processing power of the Y700, other key specifications like the display, storage options, and battery capacity still remain a mystery.
The device’s international launch strategy also remains unclear, but considering the path followed by its predecessor, a global launch is likely after the Chinese launch.
With the end of the year approaching, the Legion Y700 is likely to launch in the coming weeks or months, putting Lenovo in a strong position for the holiday season and potentially attracting the interest of mobile gamers looking for a portable and powerful gaming device.
