Google Chat is opening its corporate chat and communication application to other platforms. These platforms include options such as Slack and Microsoft Teams. Thanks to the new integration, Chat users will be able to send messages to Slack or Teams users without switching between applications.
However, it should be noted that this opportunity is only offered to Google Workspace subscribers, that is, users who pay for the service. It was announced that the feature, whose beta testing has been completed, has started to be distributed to all users.
Google Chat users need to download one more app
It is worth noting that benefiting from this integration is a bit troublesome. Users need to install an extra application called Mio, which acts as a bridge between Chat, Slack and Teams. It is worth noting that Mio also requires an extra license fee.
Mio's skill set is quite wide. Features such as tagging, sending files, GIFs cover all messaging applications. Thanks to Mio, it also ensures the integrated operation of Google Workspace and Microsoft 365.
