Game performance problems and solutions in Intel’s Arrow Lake processors

Intel’s new Arrow Lake-based Core Ultra 9 200S series processors perform below expectations, especially in gaming performance. The company accepted this situation and stated that it was aware of the performance problems and that efforts were continuing to resolve them. Robert Hallock, Intel’s Vice President of Customer AI and Technical Marketing, shared the reasons and solution plans for these problems in an interview with HotHardware.

While Hallock emphasized that the basic architecture of Arrow Lake processors is solid, he stated that some factors combined to cause undesirable performance drops. Stating that these problems are entirely Intel’s responsibility, Hallock explained that Microsoft or other third parties have nothing to do with this situation. It is thought that especially the decreases in game performance are caused by unexpected interactions caused by the design of the processor.

Solution plans and timeline

Intel is actively working to fix these performance issues. Hallock stated that they plan to provide a comprehensive update on the causes and solutions to the problems in late November or early December. Stating that the implementation of the solution will be simple for users, Hallock said that the problem can be resolved with BIOS update and Windows updates.

Intel will focus on software and hardware optimizations to improve the performance of Arrow Lake processors. In order to improve user experience, the company aims to analyze in detail the factors affecting game performance and make the necessary corrections. In this process, it is planned to develop more effective solutions by taking user feedback into account.
