Dell announced that it will launch five new laptop models with Qualcomm Snapdragon processors this year. These models include XPS 13 (9345), Inspiron 14, Inspiron 14 Plus, Latitude 7455 and Latitude 5455. There is no other manufacturer that has announced so many laptops with Snapdragon processors.
The new XPS 13 is equipped with a mid-range 12-core Snapdragon X Elite processor. A 10-core X Plus version specific to the Chinese market will also be available. This model will offer up to 64 GB memory, up to 2 TB PCIe SSD storage (4 TB option will be available post-launch) and three different 13.4-inch display options: IPS with 1920 x 1200 resolution with 500 nits brightness, 120Hz refresh rate screen; IPS touch screen with 2560 x 1600 resolution at 500 nits brightness and 120Hz refresh rate with HDR support; and HDR supported OLED touch screen with 2880 x 1800 resolution, 400 nits brightness, 60Hz refresh rate.
All three configurations come with a 1080p webcam with Windows Hello support and USB4 Type-C ports with DisplayPort 2.1 and Power Delivery. The OLED version will be slightly thinner than the IPS versions (0.60 inches) at 0.58 inches thick, but all versions will weigh the same 1.18 kg.
The Dell Latitude 7455 will also have Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus processor options, but both configurations will be available in the US. This model will offer support for up to 32 GB of memory, up to 1 TB of M.2 2230 SSD storage and a multitude of ports: Two USB4 Type-C, one USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, microSD, audio jack, Windows Hello 5G connectivity support with webcam, optional fingerprint reader and optional external uSIM card tray.
A single display option will be available for the Latitude 7455: a 14-inch 2650 x 1600 resolution IPS touchscreen. Both Latitude configurations will weigh 3.17 pounds and be 0.67 inches thick.
Finally, the Dell Inspiron 14 Plus (7441) will only come with a 10-core Snapdragon screen. This model will have a 1080p Windows Hello webcam. Ports will include two USB4 Type-C, one USB-A 3.2, a microSD card reader and a headphone jack. The Inspiron 14 Plus will weigh around 1.44 kg and be 0.58 inches thick, depending on the configuration.
All five laptop models will be released later this year, but the XPS 13 and Inspiron 14 Plus are available for pre-order now. The starting price of the XPS 13 will be $ 1,299, and the starting price of the Inspiron 14 Plus will be $ 1,099.
