Comet browser comes to Windows, early tests for Android started

Perplexity, which works on the discovery of artificial intelligence -supported content, is preparing to open its new generation internet browser called Comet to Windows users. Aravind Srinivas, CEO of the company, confirmed that the Windows version has been ready and early access invitations began to be sent. Comet, which was previously offered to a closed beta for Apple Silicon equipped devices on the Mac side, Comet aims to reach a wider audience. The Windows version of the browser comes with all the functions in the Apple version.

One of the prominent aspects of Comet is that it has a structure that can interact with the user, unlike traditional search engines. This vehicle, which is not content with navigating between pages, can also perform many daily operations directly from E – mail analysis to campaign tracking in shopping baskets. Users can ask questions to the browser in natural language and access the information they need with the answers blended from different sources. However, the data processing processes behind these abilities bring about confidentiality discussions from time to time.

Avinde Srinivas’s previous Podcast statement, criticizing that the browser could collect out -of -application data were criticized. The CEO said that these words were detached from the context and the personalization option for targeted ads would be completely left to the user preference. In any case, it is clear that users who are sensitive to personal data security will closely follow this issue. Especially at a time when artificial intelligence -supported systems demand more data, it is important to make such explanations with transparency.

Tests for the Android version of the browser started early than planned

Apart from Mac and Windows, Perplexity has now accelerated its preparations for Android users. CEO Srinivas said that on Android side, a progress was made “before planned” and the process is progressing faster than expected. Although an open release date has not yet been shared, an early access process is expected to be initiated for this platform soon. It is stated that the Android version will include a large part of the capabilities in iOS and desktop versions.

The Comet’s “TRY on” feature allows users to upload their photos and visualize the clothes they choose. This function is considered to facilitate the decision process, especially in online shopping. In addition to all these, small, but functional details, such as checking the discount coupons or access to forgotten e -mails while shopping through the browser, but also functional details support the use of use. Perplexity aims to offer these functions with a simple and fast interface.

Opposite the browser, Opera Neon, Google’s AI mode and OpenAI -supported experimental applications, such as various competitors. Similarly, these products are developed to enable users to reach not only information but also to the solution. However, since each appeals to a different user habit, the differences between them will be seen more clearly over time. User preferences will be largely shaped by titles such as privacy, speed and ease of integration.

Perplexity has completed a $ 500 million investment tour in recent months and reached a valuation of $ 14 billion. After this development, a cooperation with Motorola was announced, some Razr It has been announced that the Perplexity AI assistant will be presented on the series phones. It is known that the company has similar meetings with other Android manufacturers such as Samsung. It is estimated that the Android version of Comet will be able to see a wider distribution within the framework of these collaborations.

Users who want to access the Comet browser at the moment need to register for the waiting list via Perplexity’s official website. The first beta invitations sent to Windows users show that the test process on this platform has also started. For Android, it is highly probable that the beta test will be initiated soon.
