Apple will likely unveil the iPhone 16 series on September 10. Rumors about the new phones have been floating around for a while now, with the latest one shedding light on the Cupertino-based company’s production plans.
Apple, which set a target of producing 86.2 million iPhones last year, is said to be increasing its production target to 90.1 million this year. The company expects the Pro Max model to make up 37 percent of production. This corresponds to a figure of 33.2 million.
Apple produced 24.2 million iPhone 15 Pro Max units last year. Therefore, it can be easily said that there has been a significant increase in this regard. The company, which produced 21.8 million iPhone 15 Pro units, is also expected to produce 26.6 million iPhone 16 Pro units this year.
The total share of non-Pro iPhones in production will be 33 percent. The number of devices produced, which was 21.8 million for the iPhone 15, is expected to increase to 24.5 million for the iPhone 16. The iPhone 16 Plus will be the only model whose production number will be reduced compared to the previous year, with 5.8 million units to be produced. The company had set a production target of 8.5 million iPhone 15 Plus last year.
Of course, plans can always change depending on demand, but it is clear that demand for the Plus model has been decreasing year by year. So the rumors that Apple will replace this model with another iPhone model in the future may be true.
Apple to increase revenue by producing more iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max
The increase in iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max production signals a revenue boost for Apple, as they are the most expensive models in the company’s portfolio and actually have higher profit margins.
