AMD’s Ryzen 9000X3D Processors Leaked: Performance Expectations Are Low

AMD’s yet-to-be-announced Ryzen 9000X3D desktop processors were revealed with a leak. However, like Intel’s new Arrow Lake processors, it is predicted that these new models will not offer a big jump in terms of performance. This may be disappointing, given the generally poor reception of AMD’s Ryzen 9000 series.

According to information published by Germany-based hardware site HardwareLuxx and based on a presentation by MSI, the new Ryzen 9000X3D processors can provide a significant performance increase over their predecessors, especially in multi-core operations. For example, it is stated that the eight-core Ryzen 9000X3D processor showed a performance increase of up to 28% compared to the Ryzen 7 7900X3D in the Cinebench R23 test. However, looking at gaming performance, Black Myth: Wukong And Shadow of the Tomb Raider Increases as low as 2% were observed in games such as.

On the other hand, according to MSI’s preliminary tests, the performance difference of the X3D models against the base models of the Ryzen 9000 series is quite small. In fact, it is reported that X3D and standard models offer almost the same performance in scenarios where processors operate at the same frequency. However, MSI also states that these data are based on preliminary samples and that they expect the performance to be better in the processors that will reach the end user.

The source of the leak remains unclear. HardwareLuxx or MSI may have shared this information prematurely. What’s interesting is that the leak appeared as part of a presentation focused largely on Intel’s new Core Ultra 200S processors. This part of the presentation was stated to be embargoed for Intel processors until October 10, which makes it unclear why AMD’s processors are included here.

Users who do not expect a big performance jump from Ryzen 9000X3D processors will closely follow whether the price and other features will increase the appeal of the new series.
