A new alternative iOS application store in Europe: SKİCH

Following the regulations for Apple’s application store policies in the European Union (EU) application store, the new third -party application stores began to be offered to iPhone users. Skich, the newest of these stores, attracts attention as a platform that focuses on mobile games, especially. Within the scope of the European Union’s Digital Markets Law (DMA), Apple has joined other alternative stores such as SKich, Altstore Pal, Setapp Mobile and Mobivention.

The SKich Store has become downloadable for iOS users in Europe via the official website. The company claims that the platform offers a more personalized experience in exploring and distribution. Unlike traditional application stores, SKich plans to make game suggestions, especially with an algorithm that appeals to players. It is also stated that an Android version of the platform is also under development.

However, there is no game in SKİCH at the moment. Aptoide, another game -oriented third -party iOS application store, started to serve with eight basic games when it was opened in June last year. SKİCH CEO Sergey Budkovski said the games will be presented on the platform as of March and that about 20 developers have applied to take part in the store.

SKich Store announced that it will receive a 15 percent commission from developers in every shopping through the application store. This ratio is lower than Apple’s 20 percent commission fee for developers in the EU. The platform, which aims to be a more attractive option for developers, will cut the same ratio from in -app purchases in the games downloaded through the store.

SKİCH trusts the discovery mechanism

One of the most remarkable features of SKich is the game reconnaissance mechanism for users. CEO Sergey Budkovski said, ık We have developed a Tinder -like suggestion system. Our algorithm contains 240 different types of game types with 14 times the number of categories in the App Store, and emphasized SKich’s confidence in the personalized suggestion system. This system is aimed to match the games that attract players more accurately.

Following the entry into force of DMA in March 2024, a major increase in the number of third -party application stores was observed. Apple’s strict security rules and technical restrictions make it difficult for many developers to enter this field. Nevertheless, Skich draws attention as a new alternative.

The absence of games on the platform for the time being stands out as a major deficiency. As a result of the collaborations with developers, whether the personalized suggestion system offered by SKich will be really successful, will be more clearly with the addition of games. How the place of alternative application stores will have a place in the market will be better understood in the coming period.
