New codes appearing in Apple’s tvOS 27.2 beta strengthen the signs that the company may include Apple Intelligence support in the next Apple TV model. There are statements in the system files regarding the “Improve Siri and Apple Intelligence” option, which is expected to be added to the Settings application. This option is largely similar to the data sharing settings used on iPhone, iPad and Mac models that support Apple Intelligence. In the relevant statement, it is stated that the text and voice interactions of users with Siri, Dictation and Translation may be allowed to be collected and used by Apple for the purpose of developing basic models and Siri. Since a similar setting is only offered under the name “Improve Siri and Dictation” on current Apple TV models, the possibility that the new phrase is connected to a next-generation device with more powerful hardware stands out.
The fact that the codes are located next to existing Siri data sharing components also supports this distinction. Users are not expected to see the same setting on devices that do not support Apple Intelligence. Therefore, the new option in tvOS 27.2 may be a part of the infrastructure prepared for the hardware to be used in the future, rather than a direct change for existing Apple TV models. Since a significant part of Apple Intelligence features benefit from models running on the device, processor power and memory capacity become decisive here. Since today’s Apple TV hardware was not designed with these requirements in mind, it would not be surprising if a more updated chip and higher RAM capacity were used in the next-generation model.
New Apple TV is preparing for advanced Siri features
Another striking element in the tvOS 27.2 codes is the new Messages interface framework prepared for Siri. In the current Apple TV software, Siri cannot read incoming messages on a connected iPhone and cannot send messages on behalf of the user. The new interface infrastructure may enable message contents to be displayed on the television screen in the future and Siri to offer smart response options in appropriate situations. Such a function could further the continuity features between iPhone and Apple TV and provide practical use, especially for users who do not want to reach their phones in front of the television. However, the presence of an interface component in the codes does not mean that the feature will definitely be available, and Apple may change or completely remove such elements during the development process.
Previously revealed information suggested that Apple was working on a new Apple TV that carries 8 GB or 12 GB RAM and is powered by the A19 or A19 Pro processor. Such a hardware configuration could provide a much more convenient basis for running Apple Intelligence features on the device compared to existing models. In particular, additional processing power and memory are needed for the new generation Siri to understand personal context, perform operations between different applications, and process more complex natural language commands. Apple Intelligence statements seen in tvOS 27.2 also create a picture consistent with these hardware claims. However, it is not possible to make a definitive assessment about the processor, RAM capacity and artificial intelligence features that will be supported before Apple officially introduces the new device.
There are also claims that the new Apple TV may be introduced as soon as October 13. The codes appearing in tvOS 27.2 suggest that Apple is making the necessary preparations for the new hardware on the software side. If Apple Intelligence support comes, Apple TV can turn from a device that only offers media playback and smart home functions into a home screen where Siri is used more effectively. However, to what extent the usage experience will change will depend on which Apple Intelligence features Apple will bring to tvOS. Although the available codes for now offer strong clues that the new Apple TV may come with more powerful hardware and more advanced Siri capabilities, it is necessary to wait for the official announcement for the scope of the features.
