Xiaomi will push the boundaries with the Mix Flip cover screen

Xiaomi will unveil its new foldable phone called Mix Flip on July 19. The Mix Flip, Xiaomi’s first foldable phone with a “clamshell” design, will compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 6. As the countdown for the launch draws to a close, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun shared a statement on social media shares reveals the design of the foldable phone.

In the images, the first thing that catches the eye is the two large camera circles on the cover. The second striking point is the large 4.01-inch cover screen. This screen is surrounded by a thin black strip.

The Mix Flip will naturally be compared to the recently introduced Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6. It is worth noting that the cover screen on the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is 3.4 inches and the frame is thicker. The thick frame sometimes prevents unwanted touches on the screen. Therefore, it is necessary to wait and see how Xiaomi’s approach will work.

Based on Jun’s post, it appears that the Mix Flip’s outer display can be customized with an always-on software camera button and a full-sized (yet still quite small) 26-letter keyboard. This means that you can do a lot of things on the phone without opening the cover. In addition, the presence of a speaker and microphone on the outside also makes it possible to talk on the phone without opening the cover.

Xiaomi Mix Flip carries Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor

The Mix Flip will come with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The phone, which has rear cameras developed together with Leica, will be powered by a 4780 mAh battery.

Along with the Mix Flip, Xiaomi will also unveil a foldable phone, the Mix Fold 4.
