Thomas Wang, president of Redmi, one of the brands under the umbrella of Xiaomi, announced that they will release a new series called Turbo. The first member of the new series, which will be placed between the K and Note series, will be Redmi Turbo 3.
Wang stated that their aim with the Turbo series is to restructure the mid-segment phone market. It is expected that the Redmi K series will again offer “flagship killer” phones, while Redmi Turbo will be placed on the lower level by focusing on performance. Redmi Note, on the other hand, will continue to highlight the camera experience.
The reason why the first phone of the series is called Turbo 3 is that it will be the third “price / performance” device in the company's portfolio. Previously, Redmi Note 11T Pro and Redmi Note 12 Turbo were introduced with this goal.
Redmi Turbo 3 may launch outside China as Poco F6
There is currently no information on whether the Turbo 3 will be sold outside China under the name Poco F6.
With the Turbo 3 and the Turbo series in general, Xiaomi's smartphone portfolio becomes a little more complicated. It will be seen over time whether the company will make a simplification here.
