Xiaomi is preparing to introduce the Redmi K80 Series

Xiaomi is expected to announce the Redmi K80 series smartphones at the end of this month. A leaker known under the pseudonym “Experience More” on the Chinese social media platform Weibo shared important details about both the Redmi K80 and K80 Pro models. This information has further increased the curiosity about the new series.

Redmi K80: Powerful Hardware and Long Battery Life

It is stated that the Redmi K80 model will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Although this processor is not the latest version, it is still quite assertive with its performance. On the other hand, it is stated that the screen of the device will be a Huaxing LTPS panel with 2K resolution. The screen, which will have a flat design like its predecessor, aims to combine high quality and ease of use.

In terms of camera features, the K80 will be equipped with a 50 MP Omnivision OV50 main sensor, 8 MP ultra wide-angle lens and 2 MP macro lens. It is claimed that there will be a 20 MP Omnivision OV20B sensor on the front. Thus, it is expected to offer good performance in both main camera and selfie shots.

It is said that the battery capacity of the device will be 6500 mAh and will offer 90W fast charging support. This means users can use their devices for long periods of time without charging. In terms of security, the ultrasonic fingerprint reader to be placed under the screen will attract attention, while the metal middle frame and Dragon Crystal Glass coating of the device will provide a premium feeling. Additionally, it is stated that water and dust resistance will be provided with IP68 certification.

Redmi K80 Pro: A High-End Alternative

The Redmi K80 Pro model aims to exceed the standard model with more powerful features. It is stated that Qualcomm’s top-level processor Snapdragon 8 Elite will be used in the device. However, the screen will still be a 2K resolution Huaxing LTPS panel and will maintain the same line with its flat design.

The camera system of the Pro model has been significantly improved. In addition to the 50 MP Omnivision OV50 main sensor, there will be a 32 MP ultra-wide-angle ISOCELL KD1 sensor and a 50 MP ISOCELL JN5 telephoto lens offering 2.6x optical zoom. As for the front camera, no changes will be made and a 20 MP sensor will be preferred.

Battery capacity is slightly lower on the K80 Pro; It is stated as 6000 mAh. However, 120W fast charging and 50W wireless charging support aims to close this gap. On the security and design side, it is stated that the same features as the K80 will be preserved. Ultrasonic fingerprint reader, metal frame and Dragon Crystal Glass coating will also be included in this model.

The Redmi K80 series can be an impressive option for users who like the price-performance balance. Especially with its Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and advanced camera system, the K80 Pro is expected to compete with upper segment devices. What Xiaomi will offer to consumers with this series will become clear at the official launch.
