X is taking new steps to make its live broadcast feature more visible. While the company introduced the new control center called Live Studio, which allows content producers to plan and manage their broadcasts more easily, it also announced that it has prepared a new payment program worth $ 1 million for live broadcasting accounts. With this initiative, the platform aims to enable more content creators to use the live broadcast experience, which has been in the background for a long time.
Nikita Bier, the company’s product manager, announced in his posts on X that a total of 1 million dollars will be distributed to content creators who broadcast live in the upcoming payment period. The criteria by which the payment system will operate has not yet been announced. Despite this, Bier stated that the details would be shared later, and also published a short promotional video showing the new Live Studio interface within Creator Studio.
X Live Studio gathers live broadcast management in a single center
The new Live Studio offers a comprehensive control panel where content creators can prepare and manage their live broadcasts. Users can create a new broadcast, add a title to the broadcast, and upload a thumbnail that will be displayed before the broadcast starts. In addition, broadcasts can be planned in advance for a specific date and time. In this way, content producers have the opportunity to inform their followers before broadcasting.
Various options are also offered for who can watch live broadcasts. Publications can be limited to only be available to verified accounts, users followed by the content creator, or paid subscribers. Users who wish can make their broadcasts accessible to everyone on X. These options are intended to make it easier to schedule broadcasts for different communities.
Live Studio isn’t just limited to broadcast creation tools. Comments from viewers can be viewed in real time during the broadcast. In addition, statistics such as the number of concurrent viewers, the countries from which the viewers connect and the devices they use can also be monitored on the same panel. Thus, content producers can instantly evaluate broadcast performance and shape their content accordingly.
On the other hand, the live broadcast feature in X is still only available to X Premium subscribers, which is offered for a monthly fee of $ 3. For this reason, the platform’s new payment program also aims to make the paid subscription system more attractive. Users who want to broadcast live must first have a Premium subscription.
However, there are question marks about how successful X’s live broadcast infrastructure will be in large-scale events. In 2023, Ron DeSantis was planned to announce his presidential candidacy via X Spaces, but the event encountered serious technical problems due to the server density. The live Spaces broadcast, planned to be held between Elon Musk and US President Donald Trump a year later, was similarly interrupted due to access problems.
The new Live Studio and creator compensation program demonstrates X’s goal of strengthening its competition in the video and live streaming space. However, the permanent success of this initiative will depend not only on financial incentives, but also on the platform providing the technical infrastructure that can smoothly manage heavy viewer traffic. Developments in this area will become clearer with the payment criteria to be announced in the coming period and the rollout of Live Studio to a wider user base.
