Galaxy Z Fold 8 appeared in black this time

New leaks have emerged about the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which is expected to be Samsung’s next foldable phone. While the shared content this time shows the black mock-up of the device, another image compares the phone’s cover screen side by side with the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Successive leaks in recent weeks show that Samsung is preparing for a noticeable change in the screen ratio while largely preserving its design approach.

The new model images shared have largely the same design as the example previously seen in white. While the last leak includes a black color option, according to previous claims, this color is expected to be offered under the name “Graphite”. The flat frame structure, thin body, flat side surfaces and vertically positioned capsule-shaped camera island indicate that the design line used in Galaxy Z Fold 7 will continue. However, the most obvious difference of the device is its wider and shorter body structure. This change is expected to make it more comfortable to use the cover screen with one hand.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 may come with a larger cover screen

According to the leak, the general appearance of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 reminds not only the previous Samsung model, but also the foldable iPhone that Apple is allegedly working on and Huawei’s Pura X Max model that is on sale. In the foldable phone market, manufacturers are turning to larger external screens, aiming to reduce the need to open the device during daily use. If Samsung adopts a similar approach, operations such as messaging, social media and internet browsing can be carried out more practically on the cover screen.

New mock-up images also include a dual camera setup on the back. Previously shared information suggests that this system will have a main camera with a resolution of 50 megapixels and an ultra-wide-angle camera with a resolution of 50 megapixels. While there is no significant change in the design of the camera module, the power and volume control buttons are located on the right edge, and the USB Type-C port is located at the bottom.

In addition, the comparison image shared by Ice Universe, one of the reliable leak sources, also offers new clues about the dimensions of the Galaxy Z Fold 8. In the image, the cover screen of the device is located side by side with the Galaxy S26 Ultra. By comparison, the Fold 8’s outer screen looks only marginally larger than the S26 Ultra’s screen. This supports claims that Samsung aims to make the narrow cover screen, which was criticized in previous Fold models, more useful.

It is said that Galaxy Z Fold 8 will be introduced at the Galaxy Unpacked event, which is expected to be held on July 22. There are expectations that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Watch 9 models will be announced at the same event. Samsung has not yet made any official confirmation about these products. Despite this, increasing leaks recently indicate that more information about the design and technical features of the device may emerge as the launch date approaches. All details shared until the official launch should be considered as allegations.
