Windows 11 taskbar symbols can now shrink and grow like on Mac

Microsoft has added a new one to his trials on the Windows 11 operating system. The company has begun to test the flexible sizing feature for the taskbar symbols. This new feature is currently open to access to Insider Preview Beta users. During the trial process, users can test this feature in different scenarios and provide feedback.

The new setting makes it possible to automatically shrink the taskbar symbols according to the screen fullness. In addition, users can always prefer the icons to remain small or always large. The setting is located under the “Taskbar Behavior” menu in the taskbar settings. There are three different options under the title of “Show Small Taskbar Buttons”.

These options are listed as “always”, “never” and “when the taskbar is filled”. When the “taskbar is full” option is activated, the icons automatically shrink when a large number of applications are open. In this way, the pushing of the symbols to the secret men is prevented. All of the symbols can be considered in one line.

This behavior reminds me of a visuality that MacOS users are familiar with. In Mac, the dock area narrows dynamically as the number of applications opened. The new taskbar behavior in Windows 11 works similarly. Thus, visual harmony and screen efficiency are provided together.

These changes to the user experience are not limited to the taskbar. According to Insider structures, there are some remarkable innovations in the Start menu. The new order offers opportunities such as hiding proposed applications and showing all applications on a single screen. The menu also has a wider settlement.

These changes give more control to the user in terms of privatizability. Microsoft is trying to appeal to users with different habits. Since everyone’s usage style is different, the presence of such options increases functionality. Users can now set the screen area according to their own preference.

However, users who have switched to this beta structure may temporarily be deprived of the battery status icons previously presented in January. Microsoft has withdrawn this feature for a short time. However, the company says that these visual icons will be re -presented to Insider users. When the battery symbols are redesigned, it will be redistributed.

Windows 11 provides more flexibility to the end user

These changes on Windows 11 allow the end user to establish a more flexible relationship with the system. Even small changes, such as icon sizing, can make a big difference in terms of ease of use. Especially in small screen devices, the efficient use of the taskbar area becomes important. Such adjustments can directly affect user habits.

The feedback received during the development process will determine whether these features will enter the stable versions of the future. The Windows Insider community continues to be one of the most important parts of this process. Each tested feature is aimed at providing more personalization and ease of use. This new dynamic structure in the taskbar is one of the last examples of this approach.
