Although the iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 are similar in appearance, there are notable changes in the details. First of all, the pill-shaped screen hole, or Dynamic Island, that Apple introduced to the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max models the previous year, has now spread throughout the series with the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. How useful Dynamic Island is varies from person to person, but I like the non-distracting animations that appear at the top of the screen when transferring files with AirDrop, connecting AirPods to iPhone, or similar moments. On the other hand, it is also useful for following live match scores. On the other hand, it should be said that the screen area of ​​​​the iPhone 15 has increased even more compared to the iPhone 14, thanks to the pill-shaped hole.

This change in the format of the screen will indicate that the phone you are using is an iPhone 15 and not an iPhone 14. Apart from this, when you look at the back, we see that the cameras are positioned diagonally. Although the shape of the camera module has not changed, the contour around the cameras has been slightly differentiated and looks nicer now. The iPhone 14 was already an attractive and lightweight phone with its glass and aluminum body. We can say the same for the iPhone 15. Moreover, now, thanks to its matte back, the iPhone 15 shows less fingerprints and dirt. On the other hand, the coating of the camera module is now glass, not plastic.

There is no difference in screen sizes, resolution and technologies between the iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 models. Apple even continues to maintain the 60 Hz refresh rate. However, Apple increased the maximum brightness of the screen to 2000 nits on the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models. This provides better visibility outdoors in bright light. Excluding Dynamic Island and this, we can say that the two generations offer the same visual experience on the screen side. The sound output and fullness offered by stereo speakers are also at the same levels.

Apple A16 Bionic came to iPhone 14 Pro models the previous year. Now it appears on the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. iPhone 14 and 14 Plus have A15 Bionic. Naturally, the iPhone 15 comes out ahead in GeekBench 6 comparisons. However, both phones will offer the same performance in daily tasks and many games. However, as time goes by, we can say that the advantage on the performance side will shift more to the iPhone 15.

One of the innovations of the iPhone 15 is the arrival of the USB-C port. This will make the most difference for a normal user by making charging easier. You can now use the charging accessories and cables of your friends who own Android phones. On the other hand, you can charge your own or others’ smart watches, headphones or even phones with your iPhone 15 or 15 Plus. It sounds nice to use the iPhone 15 Plus as a “powerbank”, especially since it has a higher battery capacity.

Speaking of charging, on the battery side, we see that the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus come with small capacity increases compared to their predecessors. Despite this, we can expect both generations to offer roughly the same single-charge performances. Apple’s doubling of the charging cycle in the iPhone 15 models will make the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus more attractive in terms of long-lasting use.

In the iPhone 15 series, Apple includes the second generation ultra-wideband chip. One of the important innovations this brings is that those with iPhone 15 series models can find each other in the exact location in crowded places. Using the Find My app, you can find the location of your loved one or friend with an iPhone 15 who has shared their location with you, as accurately as if you were finding an AirTag object or the AirPods headphone case.

On the camera side, we see one of the important differences between the two generations. Apple is now spreading the 48 megapixel main camera, which it first included in the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models in 2022, across the series with the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. In this way, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models, which continue to carry two cameras, a 48-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, can take 12-megapixel photos by zooming 2 times, without sacrificing quality. So, in a way, a telephoto camera experience is offered. On the other hand, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus take 24-megapixel photos by default. This means more detail than the 14 and 14 Plus, which take 12 megapixel photos. In the photos we took with the iPhone 15, iPhone 14 and 14 Plus in different environments, we see that the iPhone 15 is slightly better in terms of color vibrancy and brightness. You may not notice it at first glance in the examples in the video. However, in the details, it turns out that the iPhone 15 is ahead in terms of exposure, colors and clarity.

Compared to the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 models, there are significant differences between the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15. This makes the experience a little richer. For this reason, the innovations in the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models seem worth the price difference.
