Within the scope of the strategic agreements signed with Huawei in Shenzhen, while new generation communication technologies are being developed, Turkcell is expected to create a broader digital ecosystem. In addition, Turkcell, which signed a cooperation protocol with China’s Spacesail company in the field of satellite technologies, aims to strengthen satellite communications in regions where there is no mobile coverage.
Turkcell and Huawei: Strong cooperation in 5.5G and artificial intelligence
Turkcell’s cooperation with Huawei focuses especially on the development of advanced technologies such as 5.5G and DWDM. Solutions to be jointly developed by the two companies; It will enable an innovative approach in smart network analysis, artificial intelligence software, cloud computing infrastructures and digital transformation processes. Thanks to this strategic cooperation with Huawei, Turkcell aims to contribute to the digitalization process by offering new digital solutions for individuals and sectors.

New collaborations in satellite technologies: Agreements with Spacesail and Lynk
Turkcell also signed a goodwill protocol with China-based satellite technology company Spacesail to provide satellite-based communication in rural areas and overseas areas where mobile coverage is limited. This protocol aims to provide network service by establishing a direct connection with mobile phones in Turkey via satellites in low orbit. Considered together with the satellite-based SMS, voice and data communication experiments that Turkcell had previously initiated with the US-based satellite communication company Lynk, these agreements show that Turkcell has taken important steps in the field of satellite technologies in global communications.
Huawei’s Head of Sales Unit Responsible for Mobile Operators, James Chen, expressed his satisfaction that this collaboration will contribute to Turkey’s digital transformation goals and said, “We are proud to continue working with Turkcell as a strategic business partner. “Future technologies such as 5G-Advanced and artificial intelligence are critical in the digital transformation process,” he said. In line with the agreements, it is expected to contribute to the country’s national digital development strategies by preparing and implementing the infrastructure of 5G-Advanced, an advanced version of 5G in Turkey.
