Tiktok started to show place scores in video reviews

Tiktok took a step towards expanding the search experience and began to include space reviews into the video comments. Now, in certain videos, when the location is tagged, the star scores, written opinions and even photos they share can be seen. In particular, the necessity of transition to a different application in order to reach more information about a place corresponded on the platform is eliminated. Instead of turning to Google Maps, it becomes possible to stay in Tiktok.

The examination feature appears as a separate tab on the right when clicking on the comments tab. This field, which is opened with the title of “Reviews ,, is separated from the flow of comment and focuses only on users’ evaluations about the space. In addition to the scores they provide, users can also share short notes or suggestions. All these comments turn into an interactive content discovery process.

Tiktok makes the discovery directly through the video by making comments more functional.

If the video, for example, has a prominent location like Central Park and the content manufacturer tagged location, it is possible to see the scores of that space and user views on the comment tab. This feature is separated from previous Google maps integrations because Tiktok now shows reviews through its own interface. Users can also visit the Tiktok profile of the person who writes a comment through the review tab. This transforms the investigations into a structure that makes social connections, not only information, but also makes social connections.

However, some users think that this feature has crowded the experience of interpretation. The interpretation tab under the videos contains a lot of information, sometimes causing breaks from content. However, there is a large audience that considers comments not only as a conversation, but also a means of discovery. Especially for young users, such comments can be effective in decision -making processes.

Tiktok has become a resource where the younger generation is increasingly resorted to in daily searches. Google’s statement in 2022, a significant portion of the Z generation location and operating searches directly through Tiktok said. This new review tab strengthens this tendency that has grown since then. Tiktok turns into a source of information, not only being a video content consumer area.

Another feature of Tiktok last year was visual search support. Users can take a direct photo to find similar products on the platform or upload an image on their devices. This system, which works in connection with the Tiktok Shop, is helping to keep the shopping and discovery experience in the platform. In this way, the user can respond to all needs without leaving Tiktok.

In addition, with the “Tiktok Search Ads Campaigns” feature, which was commissioned in September 2024, brands started to gain visibility on the search results page of the users. This advertising model works in a way that Google ADS has long been implemented by its long -term keyword targeting. Thus, Tiktok makes the search results more attractive for both users and advertisers. Content becomes a more strategic platform for producers and brands.

It is not yet clear whether the new “reviews” feature will be opened to all users. The future of this system, which is currently offered to a limited user group, will be determined by test results and user feedback. However, considering the habit of opening the previous features of Tiktok gradually to all users, it is likely that this feature becomes widespread over time. The fact that users do space directly through content increases Tiktok’s skills to convert content into information.
