Threads’ number of users reached 320 million

The Microblog platform Threads, developed by Meta to compete with X (formerly called Twitter), continues its growth without slowing down. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company’s monthly active number of active users (MAU) reached 320 million at the meeting where the company announced the fourth quarter financial results. This figure represents a significant increase from 300 million users reported last month and 275 million users announced in November 2024.

This user’s increase in Threads shows that the platform continues to be a preferred alternative to its competitors such as X, Bluesky and Mastodon. Bluesky, a particularly decentralized social media platform, reached an impressive growth rate of 189 percent in November 2024, but in December, it slowed down at a growth rate and was able to reach a total of 26.44 million users. This indicates that Threads has a more stable growth performance than its competitors.

Zuckerberg said Threads has received more than 1 million new records every day. To support this rapid growth, Meta is working on various updates to improve user experience. Among the innovations added to the platform, the shipment planning feature and the number of individual posts are able to see the number of views. Such features allow users to better manage their content, while making the platform become more functional.

On the other hand, Meta’s strategies to generate revenue through Threads began to become clear. The company aims to commercially evaluate Threads’ increasing popularity by launching a new advertising test process in the US and Japan. While advertising models will affect the user experience, it is said that Meta is trying to integrate advertising screenings in a user -friendly way.

Susan Li, Meta’s Finance Director, stressed that the company has made important improvements in the suggestion systems. Threads now prioritize more up -to -date posts, making the shares of popular content producers more visible. In addition, improvements were made in algorithms to enable users to see the content of the accounts they follow more. Meta thinks that these changes will increase the time of users on the platform.

The new features and strategic steps developed by Meta are of great importance in order to maintain the growth of Threads. Advertising tests can help the platform to create a long -term revenue model, while improvements in suggestion systems strengthen the user experience. Meta aims to attract users’ attention by offering a more personalized flow in the future.

Threads will soon start showing ads

Threads’ rapid growth reveals the changing dynamics in the social media ecosystem. The strategies developed by Meta can contribute to Threads’ long -term competitiveness. Especially in the US and Japan, advertising tests seem to play a critical role in diversifying the platform’s income resources.
