Threads is testing post analytics

Meta’s social media platform Threads is working on a feature that aims to provide more detailed analysis to content creators and users. According to the statement of the company’s manager Adam Mosseri, the new feature will help users better understand the performance of their shares. In this context, Threads’ existing “insights” tool will be expanded and separate statistics will be presented for each post.

Until now, analytics tools on the platform have only included public data collected for all posts. However, this made it difficult to understand which posts were performing better. Thanks to the newly tested feature, users will be able to see the number of views and interactions of their posts in detail. In addition, it will be possible to analyze how the performance is distributed between followers and non-followers.

Mosseri stated that in a period when posts begin to reach more people, it is critical to understand what content the existing follower base is interested in. Threads recently updated its “special for you” algorithm, which sparked criticism, allowing users to see content from accounts they follow more often. This change aims to improve user experience and give content visibility more organically.

The new analytics tool could offer a significant advantage not only for individual users, but also for creators and brands. Some users who produce content on the Threads platform stated that they had difficulty understanding how the application’s algorithm works. This detailed analysis tool can provide concrete data to content creators to understand which types of content are more effective.

Threads may start showing ads soon

This step by Threads can also be considered as a strategic move to attract more brands and content creators on the platform. It is claimed that Meta plans to start displaying ads on Threads as of next month. At this point, the opportunity to analyze post performance in detail may offer brands the opportunity to create a more effective advertising strategy.

With this innovation, Threads aims to both improve the user experience and accelerate the growth of the platform. Whether the new analysis tools will be widely used and what impact they will have among users will become clearer in the future.
