The thickness and battery capacity of Vivo X Fold 5 became clear

The Vivo X Fold 5 is preparing to get out of users with a thinner and lighter structure. Some important technical details of the device, which will be introduced on Wednesday, June 25, have already been presented to the public. The previously released promotional images, the thickness of the X Fold 5 was compared with the iPhone 16 Pro Max. On the other hand, the information that the device will be lighter than the X Fold 3 Pro was moved to the agenda with these visuals.

Although all these visuals do not contain a numerical explanation in the first place, Vivo manager Han Boxiao eliminated this uncertainty. According to Boxiao, the X Fold 5 will be about 2 mm thinner than its predecessor X Fold 3 Pro and 20 grams lighter. In line with this data, the device will have a thickness of 9.2 mm and a weight of 216 grams. When it is opened, the thickness will fall below 5 mm.

With Vivo X Fold 5, the case is lightened and the battery power increases

It is noteworthy that the device stands out not only with its thinness but also with battery capacity. The X Fold 5 will feature a high capacity of 6000 mAh. This means a capacity of 300 mAh more than the battery of the previous model X Fold 3 Pro. This increase is possible thanks to the fourth generation silicone anode technology used for the first time in the sector.

In this new generation, the rate of silicone in the batteries has increased 2.5 times compared to previous generations. In this way, the energy density of the battery increases by 13 %. In addition, thanks to its second generation semi -solid electrolyte structure, this battery can maintain its function even at low temperatures up to -30 ° C. This makes it possible for the device to be used in wider environmental conditions.

The durability of the device is not limited to temperature tolerance; Advanced protection is also provided against water and dust. X Fold 5 will offer IP5x dust protection and IPX9+ water -resistance level. The IPX9+ certificate indicates a level that allows the device to be opened and closed under water. For now, a protection between foldable phones is very rare.

On the screen side, innovations that may impress users attract attention. The X Fold 5 will use LTPO 8T panel technology on both the cover screen and on the home screen. It is stated that these panels can offer maximum brightness up to 4500 Nits. Thanks to Zeiss Master Color calibration, more accurate and vibrant colors will be available on the screens.

When all these hardware comes together, the X Fold 5 is not only aesthetically, but also in terms of performance. In particular, the lightening structure and larger battery capacity increases the comfort of the device in daily use. This balance, which is offered without compromising the foldable structure, reveals an approach to meet the expectations of users.

However, details such as the price of the device and the release date are not yet clear. This information is expected to be shared on the launch day. Although the leaked information about the camera features is small, Vivo’s cooperation with Zeiss is likely to continue in this model. These developments offered by the hardware side are expected to increase the competitiveness of the device when supported by the camera side.
