The option to delete messages sent to Google Posts is coming

Google’s messages application for the Android operating system is added to an important feature requested by users for a long time. Now users will be able to delete their messages not only from themselves, but also from all chat participants. This function is activated as part of the Universal Profile 2.7 version of the RCS (Rich Communication Services) protocol announced in June 2024. The feature is currently tested only with a limited number of beta users.

The first images of the beta process appeared in Reddit. While a user wanted to delete a message he sent in the group conversation, he shared a menu with a screenshot with “Delete from Anyone” and “Delete Me”. Previously there was only the option to delete from me ”option. With the new option, it is possible to delete the message from buyers.

However, this feature is not yet accessible by everyone. The beta version is currently only opened to some user groups. Especially in group chats of 12 people, this option is active. One -to -one conversations are not yet offered the same opportunity.

New Delete option, only working on current devices

On the other hand, in order for this new function to work, both the sender and the buyer need to use a RCS -supported and current Google Messages application. If the buyer is in an old application version, deleted messages can continue to be displayed on that device. This causes the deletion not to give definitive results in all circumstances. Therefore, users need to consider this limitation.

The Universal Profile 2.7 standard, published by GSMA, aims to make the messaging experience more controlled. Google aims to implement this standard and provide flexibility both in the group and one -to -one messaging. However, due to technical limitations, this process is spreading over time. After the completion of the tests, this feature is expected to be presented to all Android users.

This development fills a gap that Google messages have felt for a long time. WhatsApp and Telegram, which has been in competitor applications such as Telegram for years, comes to the settled messaging platform of Android. In this way, users get the chance to correct the messages they accidentally send. This means a significant change, especially in terms of receiving the mistakes made in group chats.

However, the gradual presence of the feature can lead to confusion among some users. This ability, which is not yet open to everyone, can cause incompatibility problems between different devices. To see if the message has been deleted, the other party will have to have updated the application. Therefore, it would be appropriate to be careful during the system’s stable version.

This is part of Google’s recent efforts to make the installed messaging application more functional on the Android platform. In the last year, innovations such as end -to -end encryption, high -quality media sending and read information were also implemented. With RCS becomes more widespread, such developments are expected to accelerate. However, it is clear that time is required to make the user experience stable.

For the time being, only a limited group of users can be presented to a wider audience in the coming weeks. Google plans to expand the scope of the feature, taking into account feedback. It is expected that all technical obstacles will be overcome in order to ensure a permanent benefit for Android users. In this respect, the distribution calendar is expected to be gradually.
