The number of users of Meta’s artificial intelligence assistant Meta AI exceeded 500 million

Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, stated at the Meta Connect event held last month that Meta AI is “on its way to becoming the world’s most used producer artificial intelligence assistant.” The company has passed an important milestone towards this goal and Meta AI has surpassed the 500 million user threshold. Zuckerberg announced this important development at the company’s last financial report meeting.

Meta announced that it generated $40.5 billion in revenue in the third quarter, an increase of 19 percent compared to last year, and a net profit of $17.3 billion. Additionally, Meta reported that the number of users using at least one application every day reached 3.29 billion, and this number increased by 5 percent compared to the same period last year.

Meta AI, the company’s artificial intelligence-supported assistant, was first introduced last fall. This assistant, which has not even been a year old, has achieved great success by reaching half a billion users in a short time. Zuckerberg stated that the company aims to continue this growth curve until the end of 2024 and that they expect Meta AI to be the most used assistant. However, it has not yet shared details on how they measure this “top usage.”

Meta’s AI strategy is not limited to Meta AI

Meta’s artificial intelligence strategy in the business world is not limited to its assistant. Zuckerberg announced that time spent on Facebook and Instagram feeds increased by 8 percent and 5 percent, respectively, with artificial intelligence-based improvements. It seems that Meta has made significant gains from artificial intelligence integration in the advertising field. Zuckerberg stated that more than 15 million ads were created using generative artificial intelligence in the last month alone and expressed that they believe there is much more growth potential in this area.

In addition to developments in the field of artificial intelligence, the Threads application, which Meta launched last summer, continues to grow rapidly. Zuckerberg said Threads currently has about 275 million monthly users and “more than a million new sign-ups a day.” He also added that the user interaction of the application has also increased.
