Meta is implementing a long -awaited update for the social media platform Threads. Users will now be able to adjust the flow of the followers to the default. This change will increase the personalization options of the platform, while users will better adapt to content consuming habits. The new feature was previously tested with certain users and is now available to all Threads users.
Since the introduction of Threads, platform users have frequently expressed that they wanted to determine the stream that allows to directly see the accounts of the accounts they follow. However, Meta initially asked the platform to focus on algorithmically listed content and was delayed to respond to this demand. However, the company, which could not ignore the intense desire of users in this direction, started to test this feature at the end of last year. The update is now officially distributed, and Threads users can keep the choice of flow, even when they turn off the application and reopen the application.
This update stands out as an important innovation, especially for those who want to use Threads with a more personalized experience. Users will now be able to focus on the sharing of the accounts they follow instead of proposed posts. In particular, it is aimed to prevent undesirable interactions while the shares are spread more controlled.
In addition, a new feature is added to the Threads’ biography section. Users will now be able to specify their interests or favorite communities by adding a maximum of 10 topics to their biographies. According to Meta’s internal data, posts tagged on certain issues are more imaging than those who have not been labeled. This feature can become an important tool, especially for content manufacturers and users who want to create community.
An improvement for video content is also among the updates. Threads’ video player now offers more advanced controls. Users will have the opportunity to play and pause the options as well as playing videos forward or backward. Thanks to a fixed progress bar, it becomes possible to manage the watched videos more easily.
