The launch date of OnePlus 16 has been officially announced. OnePlus China President Li Jie Louis confirmed in his statement on Weibo that the company’s new flagship phone will be introduced on October 12. While the statement was made during OnePlus’ 2026 Gaming Conference, details were shared about the phone’s three new technologies, especially for gaming performance. The prominent features of OnePlus 16 include a screen with a 185 Hz refresh rate and the ability to run native 185 FPS in supported games. In addition, the company positions the phone not only as a game-oriented model, but also as a comprehensive flagship that combines top-class features.
One of the innovations that OnePlus focuses on is the new generation Fengchi Gaming Kernel. According to the information provided by the company, this system can manage the different hardware resources of the phone in a coordinated manner and aims to maintain high performance, especially during long gaming sessions. OnePlus states that naturally, games that support 185 FPS can sustain the highest frame rate for longer. The approach here is based on more efficient management of available hardware resources on the software side, rather than relying solely on the raw performance of the processor. How temperature, power consumption and battery life will be affected by this performance during real use will be seen more clearly when the phone passes independent tests.
OnePlus 16 will use three-chip system for gaming performance
Another innovation on the phone will be the three-chip e-sports system developed by OnePlus. This structure handles network connection, touch response and screen-related operations in separate areas.
