Surprise move from OnePlus: A powerful new model is coming to the Ace 6 series

OnePlus’ Ace series continues to be among the models that attract attention with their powerful hardware features in the Chinese market. The company introduced the Ace 6 model in October last year and added the Ace 6T version to the series in December. Now, new information emerging shows that the brand is preparing to expand this series. According to sources known for their reliable leaks in the industry, OnePlus is working on a new Ace 6 variant with a different processor choice. This development indicates that the brand will continue its approach of increasing product diversity to appeal to different user segments.

According to Smart Pikachu, who shared the leak, the new model in question will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 processor, which has not been officially announced yet. In addition, it is stated that the device will have a 6.8 inch screen. Although the technical details are not yet fully clear, this hardware combination suggests that the device will be positioned in the upper segment. Despite this, it remains unclear for now what strategy OnePlus will follow regarding the balance of performance and price with this model.

OnePlus Ace 6 series continues to expand

While the current Ace 6 model comes with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Edition processor, the Ace 6T version has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. Looking at this table, the new model with Dimensity 9500 is expected to offer a different performance profile. In addition, it is known that MediaTek has gained a stronger position in the flagship segment in recent years. On the other hand, it can be said that this choice also shows that OnePlus is looking for alternative solutions in terms of supply chain and cost optimization.

On the screen side, a striking detail stands out. Allegedly, the new Ace 6 variant will come with a panel with a 165Hz refresh rate. This value is above the 120Hz level already seen in many flagship phones. However, it is stated that a similar screen will also be used in the OnePlus 15T model, which is expected to be introduced on March 24. The high refresh rate is expected to make a difference, especially in terms of mobile gaming experience and smooth interface usage.

In addition, Digital Chat Station, a different leak source, recently claimed that OnePlus has developed a new model called “Ace 6 Ultra”. Although there is no clear confirmation of the naming, it is considered that both leaks may point to the same device. This situation also raises the possibility of OnePlus creating a more assertive segment in its product positioning.

While it is stated that the new model may be introduced in April, it is not yet clear when the official announcement will be made. In addition, it remains unclear whether the device will hit the global market. It is known that OnePlus generally keeps the Ace series exclusive to the Chinese market, but it has also been seen before that some models are available in the global market with different names. For this reason, the possibility of the model in question being available to international users under a different name is not excluded.
