Strava announced its new updates to make training planning more efficient and to ensure justice in leadership rankings. It is aimed to make users better manage their own performance and to make competition with other athletes more transparent. These systems, which are developed with the support of artificial intelligence, include significant innovations, especially for active athletes. These features, which are specially offered to subscribers, show itself on the Maps tab of the application in the first place.
Strava subscribers can now receive artificial intelligence -supported route suggestions by manual determining the starting points manual or using their current position. These routes are based on the routes used by other users frequently. Thus, both experienced and new users can make more accurate decisions thanks to the routes shaped by community data. This system, based on heat maps, analyzes past usage data and makes suggestions.
Strava personalizes route experience with heat map and artificial intelligence
In addition to the new route planning system, the feature of interest is also updated. As of June, more information about places such as cafes, toilets, landscape points will be offered. Users will now be able to view the height, distance and estimated arrival time of these points. Moreover, the visuals of these points will be loaded by the community.
In July, Strava plans to commission a new routing system that can propose the most suitable route from point A to point B. This feature works by using both heat maps and machine learning algorithms. In other words, it calculates not only the distance but also the most productive way according to the type of activity. This algorithm provides activity -specific efficiency, regardless of jogging, bicycle or hiking.
In addition, Strava’s live segment feature is doubled. These segments allow users to see instant performance data at certain route points. In parallel, new data screens specific to subscribers will also be integrated into the application. Thanks to these screens, statistical tracking during training becomes more detailed.
Strava not only heals the routes, but also takes advantage of technology in preserving the integrity of the leadership. This system of artificial intelligence can detect fraudulent activities on the platform. In particular, the activities carried out by vehicle or the data recorded in the wrong type of sports are cleaned in this way. To date, the company has removed 4.45 million records from the system.
With the spread of electric bicycles, unjust scores may occur, especially in climbing departments. Strava constantly improves algorithms in order to prevent such situations. It has become one of the main objectives of the platform to ensure that the user produces data suitable for the actual performance. Thus, the leadership tables become more reliable.

These new moves of Strava are not only intended to improve individual performance. It also strengthens confidence and balance within the community. Users can now act with more fair and accurate information while planning or racing their routes. This makes both competition and motivation more sustainable.
