Software update released for Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro

Samsung has released a software update for the recently released Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and Buds 3 models. This update, which came a few weeks after the introduction, aims to make improvements in the Bluetooth connection stability and audio performance of the devices. Although the release performance of the new models is generally appreciated, Samsung aims to make the user experience even better with such small software touches.

The update was first spotted by SamMobile. Although the release notes published by Samsung are quite short, it is stated that the focus is on connection stability and sound quality. The update is valid for both the Pro and standard versions of the Buds 3 series.

How can you install the update?

The update is offered to users’ devices over-the-air (OTA). That’s why the software of the headphones is expected to be updated automatically. However, if you have not seen the update yet, you can update it manually by checking the battery level of your device and opening the Galaxy Wearable app. To do this, it is enough to go to the Headphone Settings section in the application and click on the Software Update option. Then you can complete the process via the Download and Install option.

The update reportedly has a version number of R530XXU0AXJ1 for Buds 3 and R630XXU0AXJ1 for Buds 3 Pro. Since the update file is only 7 MB in size, the download and installation process can be completed in a short time.

Will the improvements in sound quality meet expectations?

Galaxy Buds 3 Pro has been generally praised for its high sound quality and advanced ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) features since its release. However, some criticisms were also included in the reviews. Particularly the predominance of treble frequencies and the lack of pronounced mid-frequencies were among the notable points regarding the sound quality. Users are eagerly waiting to see if this new update improves such fine details.

Although the update does not provide a direct solution to such specific sound balance problems, Samsung’s headphones stand out with a unique EQ (equalizer) support. Thanks to the equalizer settings available through the Galaxy Wearable application, users can adjust different frequencies according to their personal preferences. This feature provides an important advantage that distinguishes Buds 3 Pro from alternatives such as Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 model.

With this update, Samsung seems to aim to provide a more stable experience in terms of connection and performance for the Buds 3 series. The aim is to ensure that the headphones do not cause Bluetooth disconnections or sound synchronization problems, especially in daily use. Further fine-tuning seems possible with upcoming software updates.
