Samsung today Galaxy Unpacked Hours before the event, Galaxy Wearable started to deliver the renewed version of its application to Galaxy Watch users. The company is introducing a new One UI design that uses color transitions, floating cards and more organized sections, replacing the old black-dominated interface. The update also bundles the Galaxy Watch’s core controls together on the app’s home screen. Thus, Samsung is showing early the software experience it will introduce with Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 to existing users.
The Galaxy Wearable app now uses three main tabs: Watch Faces, Home, and Settings. Samsung has placed these tabs in a compact navigation bar at the bottom of the screen, making it easier to navigate between watch customization options and device settings. In the previous version, users accessed many functions through different menus. The new layout shows the most frequently used options in more prominent areas.
We see the most important change of the update in the new Home tab. Here, the application shows the connected Galaxy Watch model with a large visual, while also displaying the battery percentage and estimated remaining usage time directly on the screen. Shortcuts for frequently used settings such as Notifications, Tiles, applications and quick panel are also located in the same section. This approach turns the Home tab into the center of day-to-day device management, rather than just a start screen that leads to settings.
Samsung is also reorganizing the watch face selection screen. While the old version of the app displayed watch faces as plain thumbnails, the new design showcases each option on an actual Galaxy Watch body. In this way, users can more easily evaluate how a watch face will look on the screen before installing it. According to Samsung’s official support page, Galaxy Watch users can manage their watch faces both from the Galaxy Wearable app and from the compatible watch’s own screen.
The new interface prepares the One UI 9 Watch era
The first screenshots of the new Galaxy Wearable design appeared at the beginning of July. Leaks showed that Samsung not only changed the visual layout, but also prepared the application for new health and artificial intelligence features that will come with One UI 9 Watch. In its official statement in June, Samsung confirmed that the new Galaxy Watch generation will offer personalized health assessments and more proactive recommendations within Samsung Health. The company also states that features and distribution dates may vary depending on market and device model.
Samsung launches the new Galaxy Watch generation July 22, 2026 at 16.00 will introduce it at the Galaxy Unpacked event it will organize. While the company announced in its official announcement that the new watches will develop artificial intelligence-supported health features, current news indicates that the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 models will take part in the event. However, Samsung has not yet confirmed the full specifications and prices of the new watches at the time of publishing the news.
The Galaxy Wearable update may not reach every user at the same time due to gradual distribution. To check the new version of the application, you can open the updates section in the Galaxy Store or Google Play Store. Once the new design reaches your phone, you can manage watch faces, battery status and basic device settings with fewer menus.
