Samsung will offer one UI 8.5 update to these devices

Samsung has begun preparations for One UI 8.5, an Android 16 -based interface update. With this version, the company returns to the number X.5 for the first time after a long break. This understanding of version, which was previously seen in the last one UI 2.5, is now reunite with 8.5 version. This change points to a remarkable transformation in the company’s software strategy.

This update, which is closely monitored by Galaxy users, will be available for the first time with the Galaxy S26 series in January or February 2026. Then it is expected to spread to medium and lower segment devices by continuing with other flagships. Samsung is known to apply this distribution ranking in previous versions. Over time, all appropriate devices are expected to meet this new interface.

The list of devices that Samsung will offer one UI 8.5 version is quite wide

The list of the models that will receive the update was created to cover all devices suitable for one UI 8.0 version. This means that many Galaxy phone and tablet, which has been released since 2022, can use this new interface. It is seen that the update will not only be limited to flagships, and it will also reach the mid -range and input -segment models. The common point of all these models is that they have the support of one UI 8.0.

Starting from the S21 on the Galaxy S series, S22, S23 and S24 models will receive this update. The new S25 and S26 models will be directly compatible with the update. In addition, Fe versions are also on the list. Samsung’s long software support to the S series was effective in covering these models.

The Galaxy Z Fold and Flip series, which are foldable devices, were also widely included in the update. From the Z Fold 4, all foldable models will take one UI 8.5. New models like Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 are already ready for update. Fold 7 and Flip 7 series, which are expected to be released in 2026, will be compatible from the first days of the update.

Samsung also draws attention to the fact that it creates a very wide list on the tablet side. The Galaxy Tab S8, S9 and the entire Tab S10 series will be available soon. In addition, more affordable tablets such as Tab S6 Lite (2024) and Tab A9 are included in this coverage. Galaxy Tab Active models will gain strength with this update for corporate users.

The Galaxy A Series, which are important members of the middle segment, was also widely included in the update. Starting from A33 to A73, the range of devices will receive 8.5. Supporting both LTE and 5G variants of these devices will significantly increase the number of users. More affordable options such as A14, A15 and A16 have also been on the list.

In the Galaxy M series, a similar painting appears. Models from M33 to M56 will continue to support software support. This series, especially in India and the environmental markets had reached significant sales figures. Samsung’s update policy for these markets is also showing itself in this list.

Galaxy F and XCover series are also among the devices to be updated with one UI 8.5. In particular, the XCover models, which are developed for corporate use, aim to provide long -term use with software updates. The Galaxy F series manages to enter the update by offering hardware to the M series in some markets. Thus, a wide update network is created in all product groups.

With this new update, Samsung aims to compensate for delays after One UI 7.0. Intermediate versions such as One UI 7.1 and 7.1.1 were not presented, so directly to one UI 8.0. Now, it is seen that one UI 8.1 and 8.1.1 is skipped and directed directly to 8.5. This step offers a different approach in terms of both time management and version stability.

With this version, it can be said that Samsung’s view of software updates has changed. The feedback from users and the technical facilities of Android 16 will play a decisive role in this new version. Which models will be updated on which dates will be announced in the following months will be clear with the official calendar. In spite of everything, this list shows that Samsung maintains software support for the wide user base.
