Samsung has been in the smartwatch market for a very long time and continues to offer some of the best options under its Galaxy Watch series. Leaks about the Galaxy Watch 7, which will replace the Galaxy Watch 6 series, have been going on for a long time. A new leak shows that the company aims to diversify the series. Allegedly, Samsung is preparing to add an Ultra model to the Galaxy Watch 7 series.
This claim was made by famous sensationalist Evan Blass. Blass shared the list of products that Samsung plans to release next summer. According to the list in question, the South Korean company is working on the following products:
- Galaxy Book 4 Edge and Book 4 Edge Pro
- Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro
- Galaxy Ring
- Galaxy Watch FE
- Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra
- Galaxy Z Fold 6 (Q6) and Galaxy Z Flip 6 (B6)
Since it is easy to guess the existence of other products, Galaxy Watch FE and Watch 7 Ultra stand out as the most notable devices on the list.
Galaxy Watch FE recently appeared in the database of the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) with the model number SM-R861. The fact that the Galaxy Watch 4 has the model number SM-R860 signals that Samsung will relaunch one of its most popular smart watches. In previous leaks, it was stated that the smart watch could become official under the name Galaxy Watch 4 (2024).
Samsung may respond to Apple Watch Ultra with Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra
Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra may be the name Samsung will give to the top version of the Galaxy Watch 7 series. In the past, Samsung had launched Classic and Pro variants of its smartwatches to target the premium consumer. The switch to the “Ultra” name seems logical to align the product as an Apple Watch Ultra rival. It remains to be seen what upgrades will come to the product and whether they will justify the rebranding from Classic/Pro to Ultra or if this is just for the sake of some marketing points. Samsung is said to be working on a new smartwatch with a square display, so fans may have more to look forward to.
