Samsung brings artificial intelligence features to the Galaxy S23 Series at the end of March

While Samsung’s latest artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are currently only available on the Galaxy S24 series, this will change next month. Samsung will expand AI features to its Galaxy S23 series, including the S23 FE, and its latest foldable phones and tablets with the One UI 6.1 update due in late March. For now, this update will be free, but after 2025 there may be a fee for these features.

Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 are among the devices that will receive the update, while Galaxy Tab S9, S9 Plus and S9 Ultra will also benefit from this innovation. Samsung aims to offer Galaxy AI technology to 100 million phones this year and is off to a solid start with this update. The One UI 6.1 update will include live translation, generative photo and video editing features, and Google’s Circle to Search feature, which attracted great attention in the S24 series. This suite of features will combine both on- and off-device processing techniques, just like the S24 series.

Innovative AI update to Galaxy S23 and other devices

It’s always a positive development when an old phone learns new features, even if Galaxy AI offers a mixed experience at the moment. In general, these features can be useful from time to time, and unexpected situations are mostly harmless. Apart from AI, One UI 6.1 will also introduce a number of useful updates such as lock screen widgets and a revamped, unified Quick Share.

If you want to upgrade to One UI 6.1 but want to avoid the AI features, you can turn off these features.

This update is seen as part of Samsung’s effort to bring innovations in AI technology to a wider range of users. The Galaxy S23 series and other latest devices will thus benefit from AI features that enrich the user experience. With this move, Samsung aims to offer a smarter and personalized experience to its users.
