Razer offers 4K HDR quality to broadcasters with its Kiyo V2 series

It has become almost impossible not to mention Razer when it comes to broadcasting equipment. The company has renewed the Kiyo series, this time targeting content producers. The two new models, named Razer Kiyo V2 and Kiyo V2 The user base is no longer limited to just professionals; new models cover a wider user profile.

Kiyo V2 X stands out as the entry-level model of the series and emphasizes accessibility with its price of $ 100. This model provides flexibility to the user by offering different frame rates in 720p, 1080p and 1440p resolutions. Thanks to the image fluency of up to 60 FPS, satisfactory performance is achieved in both broadcasting and video conferencing applications. The camera stands out with its 83-degree wide viewing angle, and this area can be customized to the user via Razer Synapse software. In addition, basic features such as the built-in microphone and physical privacy cover are not missing in this model either. However, Kiyo V2 X does not include advanced software supports.

Razer Kiyo V2 makes a difference with its artificial intelligence-supported features

Kiyo V2 is positioned as the more advanced model of the series with a price tag of $ 150. This device is equipped with an 8.3-megapixel STARVIS sensor produced by Sony and can record HDR video at 4K resolution at 30 FPS. Razer has increased the viewing angle to 93 degrees in this model, allowing the frame to be wider. The camera works integrated with Reincubate’s Camo Studio software and is equipped with a system that automatically keeps the user in the frame. This feature eliminates the need for manual intervention, especially in animated broadcasts. Thus, a more fluid and professional image can be obtained.

With this software development, Razer aimed not only to improve the image but also to increase the user experience. The artificial intelligence-supported background removal function provides great convenience, especially for those working at home. Thanks to the “adaptive light correction” feature that can adjust itself according to the ambient light, image quality is maintained even in low light conditions. Such features make the job of content producers who do not have studio conditions significantly easier. In addition to all this, it is a great advantage that the product works only via USB without needing any external power source. This structure also provides flexibility in mobile usage scenarios.

As much as the technical capabilities offered by Kiyo V2, its software flexibility also stands out. Thanks to Camo Studio, users can personalize their backgrounds and also benefit from automatic framing and light optimization. All these features can be controlled through a single interface. This makes the job of publishers much easier. However, these advanced features are reserved only for Kiyo V2. The Kiyo V2 X model has a structure that lacks this software support.

Despite this, Kiyo V2 X has its own strengths. The resolution and frame rate options it offers seem more than sufficient for a basic user. In particular, features such as the built-in microphone and autofocus increase the functionality of the device. Additionally, user privacy is also considered thanks to the physical privacy cover. The fact that this model lacks software support is not a big minus compared to its price. All in all, it draws a balanced device profile at the entry level.

What Razer aims for in this new series is not just limited to technical features. The aim of the brand is to appeal to a wider user base and offer accessibility and performance together. While Kiyo V2 appeals to professionals; Kiyo V2 X provides a suitable solution for more amateur users. The fact that both models work via USB connection makes installation and portability easier. This makes them attractive not only for desktop but also for mobile use.

Despite everything, it is thought that the Kiyo V2 and V2 X models will be preferred not only in broadcasting but also in areas such as online meetings and distance education. Thanks to advanced video quality and software options, the user experience goes beyond an ordinary webcam. Especially the Kiyo V2 model draws attention with its automatic framing feature similar to Apple’s Center Stage. In this way, the image automatically adapts to the speaker’s movement. Such software flexibilities make content production significantly easier.

Razer has launched the Kiyo V2 and Kiyo V2 X models for sale worldwide. It is stated that the products are currently available in US-based stores. No clear statement was made regarding the distribution schedule for European and Asian markets.
