Pixel 9 Pro XL leak shows off specs and AI capabilities

Google will officially unveil its Pixel 9 series phones on August 13. However, thanks to leaks, many details about all members of the series are already known. The latest member of the series to be seen in detail is the Pixel 9 Pro XL.

With the Pixel 9 series, Google will break a tradition and the phones will come out of the box with Android 14 instead of Android 15. It is not hard to guess that this is due to the release schedule of the series. Just like the Pixel 8 series, Google will update the Pixel 9 series with new features for 7 years.

The Pixel 9 Pro XL, like the rest of the series, will come with Google’s Tensor G4 processor. This processor will also be accompanied by the Titan M2 security chip. The base version of the Pro XL will have 16GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Storage options will extend up to 1TB. The phone will start at $1100 in the US. However, the 512GB version is expected to be sold for $1200 during the pre-order period.

The Pixel 9 Pro XL will welcome users with a 6.8-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2992 x 1344 pixels. The maximum brightness level of this screen is 3000 nits. The round hole on the screen, which is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, will host the phone’s 42-megapixel front camera.

On the back, the 50-megapixel main camera will be accompanied by a 48-megapixel 5x periscope camera and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. According to previous leaks, Google will use a Samsung sensor in the main camera and a Sony sensor in the ultra-wide-angle camera. According to previous leaks, the smartphone will receive the energy it needs from a 5060 mAh battery with 45W wired charging support.

Pixel 9 Pro XL to feature Gemini AI-powered features

The Pixel 9 Pro XL will feature Gemini AI-powered features. Pixel Studio will use AI to create images. Reimagine will transform an object in a photo into something else. An AI-powered Weather app that will provide summaries and outfit tips, and Screenshot Search that will scan your image gallery for a specific screenshot based on natural language prompts will also be available on the phone.
