Oppo Find X10 Ultra can raise the bar in remote shooting

The first information has begun to emerge that Oppo is working on its next flagship model, Find X10 Ultra. New information shared on Weibo by Chinese leak source Digital Chat Station shows that the device, which has been introduced for a long time, will come with remarkable changes, especially on the camera side. The model that will replace the Find X9 Ultra, which was announced in May, is not expected to be introduced this year. Despite this, the first technical details about the camera system of the device have already come to the fore.

According to the shared information, Oppo is focusing on the long-range telephoto camera in Find X10 Ultra. The current Find X9 Ultra model has a periscope telephoto camera with a resolution of 50 megapixels and offers 10 times optical zoom. This camera uses a 1/2.75 inch image sensor. It is stated that in the new generation model, there will be a significant increase in sensor size while maintaining the same resolution.

According to the leak, the Find X10 Ultra’s 10x optical zoom telephoto camera will include a 1/1.95 inch sensor. Increasing the sensor size in smartphone cameras can directly contribute to image quality, especially in low light conditions and at high zoom levels, as it allows more light to be collected. Therefore, the change in question is more than just a technical update, it can bring noticeable improvements in photo performance.

It is stated that the new sensor offers a significant leap in terms of area compared to the Find X9 Ultra. Thanks to the larger sensor, the level of detail in images can increase, dynamic range can improve and the need for digital processing can be reduced. It seems that the aim is to reduce the loss of detail experienced especially in photographing distant objects.

Oppo aims to take telephoto camera performance further

According to current information, the new sensor will continue to be the smaller of the two telephoto cameras on the Find X10 Ultra. However, in terms of size, it will be closer to the short-range telephoto camera. While there is a more significant sensor difference between the two telephoto cameras in the Find X9 Ultra, this difference is expected to decrease in the new model.

In recent years, smartphone manufacturers have been turning to increasing sensor sizes, especially in telephoto systems. Using larger physical sensors as well as high-resolution sensors offers significant advantages in improving optical zoom performance. While brands such as Vivo, Xiaomi and Honor are making similar investments in their upper segment models, Oppo seems to continue this approach in the Find X series.

However, the information currently shared about the Find X10 Ultra is limited to the telephoto camera only. Details regarding other technical features such as main camera, ultra-wide angle camera, processor and screen are not yet clear. Considering that the launch of the device is months away, new leaks are expected to emerge in the coming period.

The information that has emerged so far shows that Oppo is focusing on improving image quality, especially in long-distance shots. What difference the larger sensor will make in practical use will be clearer after the official introduction of the device and independent reviews.
