OneUI 6.1; Galaxy S21 doesn't bring many Galaxy AI features to Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3

Samsung released the One UI 6.1 update with the new Galaxy S24 series. One of the most prominent features of this update is Galaxy AI, which is quite useful in daily life. Last month, this update was rolled out to high-end devices such as the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy S23 series and Galaxy Tab S9 series.

This week, Samsung brought One UI 6.1 to more devices. These devices include Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. However, the Galaxy AI features brought by this update are limited to Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy S21.

Only the Google Circle to Search feature is available in the One UI 6.1 update for Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy S21 users. This causes great disappointment for users. Because these devices cannot benefit from all the Galaxy AI features offered by devices such as Galaxy S22, Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4.

One UI 6.1 and Galaxy AI shortcomings

There are two main theories as to why Samsung does not offer features such as Live Translation, Chat Assist, Generative Edit and Browsing Assist on these devices. First, these devices do not have enough processing power and memory. The second theory is that Samsung is intentional in not bringing these features to older devices.

If the second theory is correct, Samsung's approach aims to encourage users to switch to new phones. Because adding new features to old devices may make it unnecessary for people to buy new phones. This is something that no brand would want.

In summary, the One UI 6.1 update offers limited Galaxy AI features for Galaxy S21, Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 users, causing disappointment among users. Whether these limitations are due to the technical capabilities of these devices or the company's strategy is still unclear. However, it is clearly seen that this situation forces users to switch to new devices.
