One UI 8 and Samsung’s weather application are redesigned

Samsung seems to focus on visually improving the user experience, rather than offering radical innovations for the Android 16 -based interface One UI 8. Especially the visual updates made by the company on its system applications are an indication of this approach. According to early version leaks, Samsung’s weather application One UI 8 is undergoing a comprehensive visual change.

In the videos released, the new weather application in the One UI 8 comes with remarkable full -screen animations. These animations reflect the existing weather conditions more realistic and give the application a more dynamic appearance. While the company’s current One UI 7 version is limited to 2 -dimensional and simple animations, the interaction experience of users becomes richer with the new version. In particular, the animations symbolizing snow, rain, fog and sunny weather are spread over the whole screen and provide a visually more impressive presentation.

New weather application contains more realistic animations

The weather application in the new version does not make a lot of difference with one UI 7 in functionally. However, the augmented realism of animations enables users to adapt to daily air information faster. In addition, data such as current temperature, moisture, wind speed and UV index have become more readable. In this way, users can notice that not only visuality, but also the accessibility of knowledge.

However, this early version of the application has only a few weather animations. This indicates that the application is still under development. Samsung is expected to introduce the One UI 8 update in July following the stable version of Android 16, which is expected to be released in June 2025. The new interface is expected to be introduced with Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 models. However, the update is thought to be available only to a limited number of devices in the first place.

In addition to all these, one UI 8 is said to be not only the weather application, but also other system applications can receive similar visual updates. Samsung’s strategy aims to modernize the user experience without changing the general design line of the software. In spite of everything, it is stated that these animations may not work on older devices – on models such as Galaxy S21 or Galaxy S22 – for example. The reason for this may be equipment deficiencies and software optimization deficiencies.

In the final version of One UI 8, additional animations to the weather application and perhaps new functions are expected to be integrated. Users can already start trying by downloading the apk file of the application. However, it should be taken into consideration that the application is not a stable version and some systems may have collapse problems. In such cases, access to the application through the home screen Widget can provide a temporary solution.
