Instagram has launched a new video editing application Edits developed for content producers free of charge on iOS and Android platforms. This application, which was announced for the first time in January, is positioned as a application that Meta has directly erected the Capcut application, which belongs to Tiktok’s owner by ByTedance, which is widely used among young users.
Edits not only offers simple video editing tools, but also claims to be a platform that allows content producers to manage workflows, note their ideas and analyze video performance data. According to Instagram President Adam Mosseri, the application targets professional content producers instead of daily users. Mosser said that Edits offers a ısı much wider range of creative vehicles ve and will appeal to a very different audience from Capcut in his shares through Threads.
Advanced regulatory tools and artificial intelligence -supported features stand out
Developed by Meta, Edits contains a number of advanced editing tools that are not found in the standard Instagram application. These include artificial intelligence, such as animation creating, Green Screen, and Subject Cutout. In this way, users can produce video content close to professional level through mobile devices. In addition, special sections for project tracking and organization of ideas are also integrated into the application.
On the other hand, the application was announced at a time when Tiktok and Capcut in the US were removed from the application stores for a short time. This development reveals Meta’s strategic moves, especially for the tiktok ecosystem. Although Edits now appeals to a limited audience, Meta is planning to bring the application to wider sections in the future. In the following versions of the application, new features such as keyframe editing, multiple users and joint video editing will be added.
Edits, which can be downloaded in Türkiye through iOS and Android platforms, is currently offered completely free of charge. Since the application is designed for both individual content producers and small media teams, it can create a new alternative for users who want to perform social media strategies on mobile. However, with this application, it is clear that Meta wants to gain more independence in the field of content production and to reduce the influence of Tiktok.
In any case, whether Edits will be successful, the quality of the new features to be presented in the coming period and the feedback of users will be shaped. For now, Meta says it will continue to improve the application and support it with regular updates.
