New design details of Samsung One UI 7 seen

Samsung is making a number of innovations in the user experience with the One UI 7 interface based on Android 15. The new interface, which Samsung plans to launch with the Galaxy S25 series in January 2025, received widespread attention in the technology world with a video shared by the YouTube channel Mobile Wala Bhai.

One UI 7, tested on the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, brings many visual and functional updates. These new design details indicate that Samsung aims to offer ease of use and a more aesthetic appearance in its Android-based interfaces.

Among the changes in the video, the lock screen, notification panel and widgets stand out in particular. Users are now offered the opportunity to edit the location of the clock and small widgets on the lock screen. Additionally, the lock screen features a new pill-shaped icon for functions such as emergency call and charging animation. These new features offered by Samsung provide more personalization opportunities on the lock screen.

With One UI 7, an important innovation stands out in the notification panel. There is now a two-section panel design with separate pages for notifications and quick settings. This arrangement provides users with a faster transition between notifications and quick settings, while allowing both screens to have a more organized structure. This feature, which aims to facilitate access to information especially for users who receive intense notifications, shows that Samsung has adopted a user-oriented approach.

On the other hand, it is noteworthy that the notifications in the notification panel are displayed as larger cards with rounded edges. Although this design change offers a more visually aesthetic appearance, it means less information is displayed on the screen. It is thought that this design may make quick access to information difficult for users who constantly receive a large number of notifications. However, there is no clear information yet about whether this design is a default setting or customizable.

In Samsung’s new interface, some visual changes have been made in system applications. In particular, the icons of frequently used applications such as Camera, Contacts and Gallery have gained a more modern look. Additionally, widgets such as Battery, Device Maintenance and Weather have been updated. Options such as Images, Stories and Secure Wi-Fi, among the new widgets, allow users to access different information directly from their home screens. These new widget arrangements can be considered a reflection of Samsung’s goal of making the user experience more customizable and accessible.

There are also details in the Samsung One UI 7 design that will make it easier to use.

Samsung’s new interface design also has details that will make the device easier to use. For example, widget support for battery status and secure connection features stands out as a functional innovation, especially for users who want to meet their secure connection needs and check the battery status. It seems that Samsung aims to provide users with quick access to the information they need most with such functional add-ons.

Samsung One UI 7 aims to provide a more fluid and modern experience on Samsung devices with the innovations brought by Android 15. New features are expected to be further developed based on extensive user testing and feedback.
