Microsoft has made the systems developed against the use of passwords, which have long been seen as the weak ring of digital security. With the new decision, the new Microsoft accounts will be automatically launched without passwords. Users will directly authenticate with more secure methods without directing a password when creating an account. In this system, options such as transition switches, security notifications or physical security switches will become priority.
This new approach is not only a security measure, but also the aim of simplifying the user experience. The session window that Microsoft has renewed in the last period serves this purpose. The new design, which has been arranged step by step, offers a more fluent entry process by removing the user from complex password steps. Thus, both safety and ease of use are achieved at the same time.
Microsoft follows the general trend in the world of technology
One of the most striking aspects of this system is that it offers a completely unencrypted structure. A new account will not have to set a password in a classic sense. Entry operations will be done directly by methods such as fingerprint, face recognition or device -based switch. Thus, users will not deal with security problems caused by remembering or forgetting a password.
For the current accounts, the situation is a bit more flexible. Users who already have a Microsoft account will be able to switch to the switch system by removing their passwords. This will be completely optional and Microsoft will allow easy access to settings to speed up this transition. In other words, the door is not closed for those who want to stay in the old system.
Microsoft made this step even more symbolic with its announcement on World Password Day. The company announced that it will now call this day as “World Transition Key Day .. This new naming indicates that passwords will become an increasingly habit of past. Transition keys to replace passwords represent a safer digital authentication age.
Microsoft, which brought support to the key to individual accounts last year, also shared the daily use data of this system. According to the company, approximately 1 million new transition keys are created every day. These users sign up with a very high success rate of 98 percent. On the other hand, this rate remains around 32 percent in accounts that use passwords.
These data clearly reveal why Microsoft turns to the switch system instead of a password. The transition keys both in terms of success rate and resistance to security threats provide obvious advantage. Especially against identity hunting attacks, this system offers a more resistant structure. The risk of infiltration of the user’s information is significantly reduced.
The company’s work in this direction is not limited to individual users. It is stated that the transfer key support will be expanded in corporate services. Platforms such as Azure and Microsoft 365 are also expected to become widespread. Thus, internal security policies will also keep up with the transformation.
Microsoft’s move coincides with the general tendency in the world of technology. Apple, Google and other large companies have increasingly adopted the switch systems. This system has the potential to increase not only user security but also general system efficiency.
