Chinese smartphone maker Meizu announced earlier this year that it would focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and that this technology would transform the company’s smartphone ambitions. Now, the company has introduced its latest models, the Meizu Note 21 and Note 21 Pro. These models are Meizu’s first foray into international markets. The Meizu 21, which was announced in China earlier this year, will also be available alongside these new devices.
The Meizu Note 21 has a 6.74-inch IPS LCD display with FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The front camera offers 8MP resolution. The Note 21 Pro model has a slightly larger display; this 6.78-inch display also offers FHD+ resolution, but the refresh rate has been increased to 120Hz. The front camera of this model is set to 13MP.
Cameras of Meizu Note 21 and Note 21 Pro
On the back, the Note 21 comes with a 50 MP main camera and a 2 MP depth sensor. The Note 21 Pro has a 64 MP main camera and a 2 MP depth sensor. While both phones have sufficient camera hardware for different shooting scenarios, no details have been shared about the AI-supported camera features at this point.
When we look at the technical specifications of the Note 21, an unspecified eight-core processor, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage are offered. The Note 21 Pro model uses the Helio G99 processor, and the RAM and storage capacity are again 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Both models have microSD card support, so the storage can be increased.
Despite Meizu’s focus on artificial intelligence, there are no official details about AI features on either phone. Although no information has been shared on the software side, it is estimated that the phones will come with Meizu’s FlymeOS operating system.
Battery capacity and color options
The Meizu Note 21 stands out with its powerful 6000 mAh battery and offers 18W charging support. The Note 21 Pro model has a 4,950 mAh battery and comes with 30W fast charging support.
There are also options that appeal to users’ tastes in terms of color options. The Meizu Note 21 model is offered in Gulf Blue, Diamond Black and Ivory color options, while the Note 21 Pro model will be available in Gulf Blue, Sandstone and Marble color options. However, Meizu has not yet given clear information about the price and sale dates of these phones, but stated that they will share more details soon.
The Meizu Note 21, Meizu 21 and Meizu Note 21 Pro models will be available in select markets in Asia Pacific, Latin America, the Middle East and the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) regions.
